When Parent Feel Like Failures
A Special Message from Mark Gregston
Current college graduates need a job that offers benefits. They also want to give back in meaningful ways. At the Heartlight Counseling Center, we provide both.

Here, our residential staff build relationships, deepen their faith, have an adventure, and broaden their skills, all at the same time. Isn't that what every parent, grandparent or pastor wants for their kids?

Right now, we have a few spots open for new staff members. Do you know someone who would be great for this job?

If you know someone between the ages of 21 and 28 who's looking for a job, tell them about this great opportunity! Download the brochure to or send them to our website for more information.

Questions? Contact Ben Weinert at (903) 668-2173 or by e-mail at jobs@heartlightministries.org.

Let Us Say Thank You, In a Very Big Way!

It's coming up fast, but we hope that you can find time to join us on April 11th, 2017 at 8:45 am, for a very special community breakfast, at Westminster Presbyterian Church 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster.

What a year this has been, but through it all, you have stood strong, and unwavering in your support of refugees and immigrants, not only in our communities-- but in our nation. Every day, we are grateful to you for the welcome and acceptance you continue to show to newcomers. But it is not everyday that we get to thank you like we will on April 11th!

This year's program will 'Recognize Refugee Youth' for their strength and courage. Now, more than ever, we must empower our youth to lead us boldly toward brighter days. Our youth are the future of the world, and refugee youth have persevered through obstacles and challenges like none other. This year, we present a panel of local refugee youth and young adults who are positively demonstrating true leadership and courage, within their own communities.

And as if this wasn't enough to get you there, we promise you a special guest that you will not forget. Trust us when we say, you do not want to miss this!

Let us say thank you, to you, our neighbors! And stand with us, as we celebrate and recognize the future of our communities!

Please RSVP for this free breakfast here

Privacy Matters: School tries to enforce unwritten policy with no parent or student notification. Now it's written all over the Internet.

It was announced this week that the Independence Law Center has filed a lawsuit after the Boyertown Area school district told a student to 'tolerate' undressing with a student of the opposite sex and to make it as 'natural' as possible. After Fox News' Todd Starnes wrote about the lawsuit, it took off with Twitter messages from Franklin Graham and actor James Woods:

Todd Starnes tweet

Franklin Graham

James Woods

Various news outlets continue to cover this developing story: Philadelphia Inquirer, Reading Eagle, Pottstown MercuryCBS Philly, Fox29WPHT 1210, WAVA 105.1, BuzzFeed....

Randall Wenger and Jeremy Samek of the Independence Law Center are working tirelessly to offer their pro-bono legal services to this Boyertown student, who was intimidated by school officials, to defend his right to bodily privacy.

Bottom line: An unwritten policy that removes student privacy rights with no notification to parents or students is not the solution

For more about this case, visit the Independence Law Center website: independencelaw.org/2017/03/boyertown.

WDACListen now: Randall Wenger was a guest on The Spotlight program with Greg Barton to give some insight into the Boyertown student suing his school for violating his privacy rights. Click here to listen now. You can listen live this Saturday at 12:30pm on WDAC (94.5 FM) and at 2:00pm on WBYN (107.5 FM).
