Praise & Prayer news & updates
May 2020 | Issue
Our 2020 program theme at Spruce Lake is based on Hebrews 12:1-2
"Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith."
Praises:
  1. Praise for our board members and staff that have faithfully joined us remotely via Zoom for Monday staff devotions with prayer and our Wednesday fasting-prayer times.
  2. Praise for God's provision through our donors which is allowing us to meet critical financial needs among staff during this trying time.
  3. Praise for forward progress on our sewer plant upgrade which will keep Spruce Lake compliant now and prepared for the future.
  4. Praise for receipt of forgivable CARES act PPP loan monies which will allow a core team to stay working and forward looking until we re-open.
  5. Praise for the campground reopening for seasonal campers to utilize their sites. Unfortunately, we are not able to open buildings for guest usage yet.
  6. Praise for the marriage of our daughter Jessica to Caleb Holt on April 24th.
Prayer Requests:
  1. Pray for the Franconia Mennonite Camp Association Board and staff at Spruce Lake and Pinebrook as we continue to seek God's direction for the ministry.
  2. Pray for our healthcare workers and everyone else working diligently to keep people healthy, fed and sheltered.
  3. Pray for all of those suffering from COVID-19 and for people who have experienced a loss because of this pandemic.
  4. Pray for God to heal our world and to have mercy on us.
  5. Pray for many to come to know Christ, to learn how they can have abundant life now and eternal life with Him.
  6. Pray for Phil and Edna Cassel in maintenance and housekeeping who chose during this time to move permanently to TN to be closer to their children.
  7. Pray for laid off staff working in critical need industries as temporary workers.
  8. Pray for spirits to be lifted and hope to continue among all staff, especially those who are laid off and not working.
  9. Pray for our federal, state and local governments to wisely re-open in a balanced way which permits summer ministry to function at camp.
  10. Pray for wisdom as our leadership team prayerfully evaluates a progressive opening plan which provides safety, integrity, and viability.
In Christ,

Dave Trout
