Operation Christmas Child Is Looking for Leaders Like You
When God gave Rick a second chance at life after several heart attacks, he knew the best way to spend his time was serving Christ. He joined our year-round volunteer leadership team as an Operation Christmas Child area coordinator.
"I don't have a lot of time at my age," said Rick, now 72. "If you're interested in being effective for the Gospel, then Operation Christmas Child is the ministry for you."
Samaritan's Purse is seeking faithful volunteers who will partner with Operation Christmas Child to reach more children with the Good News of Jesus Christ. You could use your God–given talents by stepping into a leadership role or serving in any one of our other year-round volunteer positions. Are you ready to answer the call?

Fwd: Imagination

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: "César García" <>
Date: Jan 24, 2016 5:11 AM
Subject: Imagination
To: "Gehman Mennonite Church" <>

Dear Friends,

The story of Dirk Willems has captured the imagination of many people in the Anabaptist tradition. This image, based on Jan Luyken's etching of the 16th-century Dutch believer (published in a collection of Anabaptist martyr stories) has become a source of inspiration for Anabaptists. It depicts the moment when Dirk, who had escaped from prison where he was being held because of his faith, turns to pull his pursuer out of icy water, after the latter has fallen through the ice. As the account goes on, Dirk is re-arrested and then executed.

I have to use my imagination when I think about someone walking on ice. I have never seen a lake covered by ice. However, that lake was real – as real as the loving Spirit of God working on the lives of Dirk Willems and his pursuer.

Today, when we celebrate World Fellowship Sunday, my imagination is challenged again. What if the world were full of people like Dirk Willems? What if we saw Jesus in the face of our enemies? How could we be a global church whose spiritual cornerstone is mutual love among Christians, even to the point of giving up one's own life? How could we experience that love in our families, work places and neighbourhoods? It is that way of living that allows us to understand the other in a deep way, by listening and speaking to the other in love.

Let's ask God for his presence to help us to live according to that imagination in each relationship around us.

In peace,

Fwd: New Smart Phone friendly format for 2016 from FRCC to you!

Subject: New Smart Phone friendly format for 2016 from FRCC to you!

This is a police station built by an abused child and Play Therapist, Glenford. It has sirens, lights and everything necessary to capture the bad guys. This tool helped the child process and work through the abuse, and even to share it with siblings, helping them understand some of the behavior that was an outcome of the incident.
We enter 2016 with anticipation of a moving forward. We will have the same wonderful counselors and support staff, and hopefully even more counselors. We know that God confirmed in 2015, through you our friends, that it is His desire for this work to continue.  I hope you never tire of hearing me talk of fundraisers and our needs. We could operate successfully without your generous contributions if we would only be willing to lose one of our most precious Value Statements:
ACCESSABILITY,  We believe that quality counseling should be available to everyone.
$109,320. of our 2015 budget was applied to subsidized counseling for those without insurance or resources to pay the full cost of a session.

I speak of meeting the needs of our communities, fundraising, and sustaining FRCC, but without PRAYER you could give FRCC a billion dollars and our service would be simply helpful, clinical and temporal. When PRAYER lays the foundation
for all that we do, we know that our outcomes are eternal, clinical, therapeutic and a result of wisdom from God's Word. Thank you for praying for FRCC. If you have a prayer group, please add us to your list. God hears those prayers and lives are changed.

Thank you for your partnership,
