GIVING KITS FOR REFUGEES!

Three ways to give!

Adriane, Kyle and Gabby had fun shopping with their coupons to put together baby care kits, emergency clean up kits, hygiene kits and cleaning kits for CWS to use locally and around the world!

Two Lancaster county women enjoy thrift shopping!  They shop for themselves, and their families!  Now they are also shopping for Kitchen Set Up kits which CWS staffer Josh uses as he sets up apartments for each new refugee family that arrives, (over 200 apartments in a year!)

Josh says, "Wow! You can tell these women love to find good deals and make things beautiful too!.  The kits are full of practical and attractive things for the kitchen.  What a gift they are giving!"

These thrift shop enthusiasts would like to encourage any of you who enjoy the "hunt" to request a list from CWS for your next thrift shop excursion and see how much fun it is to gather these items and help refugees right in our own area too!

With the goal of uniting in harmony to bring peace to our troubled world, Goshen College's Hymn Club is bringing together students and community members to sing continuously through every verse of every song in Hymnal: A Worship Book starting Friday, November 14 until we're done. Congregations and individuals are invited to support by pledging per hymn. All donations go to Christian Peacemaker Teams, an organization engaged in active, on-the-ground nonviolent peacemaking. Mayor Gets DUNKED!!

What an amazing day! It sure rained in the morning, but was over by noon, just in time for the ribbon cutting ceremony.  The beautiful new lighted sign was unveiled.  It was decided that the building needed a name and several people commented that they felt it will be a lighthouse in the community.   So the name, "Lighthouse Youth Center" stuck.
Along with the ribbon cutting ceremony we had a dunking tank to dunk the Mayor!  Everyone had a blast watching Mayor Rod Redcay freeze to death!  It was all in good FUNdraising.   Many community members had a chance to tour the facility.  All in all, it was a great day to introduce REAL Youth Ministry's local outreach programs to the community.

Rod had a chance to give a tour of the facility to some local politicians who came out that day to help with the ribbon cutting!  It's great to see other public officials who care a lot about our small community.

New Programs for The Lighthouse!

Middle School (Grades 6-8)– Mondays 6:30 – 8:30pm
High School (Grades 9-12)– Tuesdays 6:30 – 8:30pm

"Saturday Night Lights" –Saturday Nights 7-9pm
This will be another program that is for Christian youth who want to connect with others and grow in their relationship with God.  ALL middle school & high school youth welcome!

There are some pressing needs right now; you can help!
The HVAC system needs upgraded.  We will be installing natural gas furnaces in the youth center and the parsonage.  The youth center is the most pressing as we cannot use the current heating system as-is due to chimney issues.  If we switch to gas that issue would be resolved.  The cost of a new gas furnace is around $3,600 installed.  As we are heading into the winter months we need to do something NOW.  Would you consider a gift to help us with this project?

If you can help in any way, please contact Rod Redcay @ 717-368-7133 or Email.

BREAKING NEWS!!   $1,500 Matching Donation!!

That's right!  For the next week, every gift given to REAL Youth Ministry will be matched by local businesses up to $1,500!
