Praise & Prayer

Our 2018 summer camp and family retreat theme is "Faith Can Move Mountains" based on Jesus' words in Matthew 17: 20 which states, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Our family is humbled to be working at Spruce Lake as God is daily using this ministry for His glory. We look forward to having you visit Spruce Lake in 2018. Know we can't thank you enough for your prayers and support as we strive to point people to Christ.

Praises:

1. We praise the Lord for a staff and board of directors who desire to see many lives touched by God at Spruce Lake.

2. Praise God the new Youth Ministry Center is nearly closed in so we can continue working inside over winter. See the live progress at www.sprucelake.org

3. We are very grateful for the year end gifts received towards the $500K challenge match to complete the new building debt free.

4. So far over 100 more youth have registered this year than last year for the four extra weekends of youth blasts we added this winter/spring of 2018, providing us with the opportunity to point them to Christ.

5. We strive to continue to improve the ministry. Recent renovations include the last six rooms (first six rooms were completed last winter) and the hallway in Homestead. In the near future the water temperature fluctuation in the campground bath house showers will be remedied.

6. We are thanking the Lord that nearly 380 men are already registered for the January 11-12^th Men's Retreat.

7. Spruce Lake began in 1963 and we give God the praise, honor and glory that we were able to serve more people in 2017 than any previous year of ministry.

8. We praise God for His many blessings over the past year and thank you so much for the finances you invested so the 499-acre mountain is now owned by Spruce Lake debt free.

Prayers:

Pray for the Spruce Lake board and staff as we continue to seek God's direction for the ministry.
Pray for safety and God's protection for those working on the new Youth Ministry Center.
Please pray for wisdom for the board of directors and leadership team at the January 19-20 board retreat.
Please pray that the Lord brings us individuals to fill part-time housekeeping and dining departments positions. Please see our website for details.
Please pray that God would prepare the hearts of the arriving guests for what He wants to teach them while they are here.
Please pray for us, as our goal for the summer of 2018 is that Wilderness Camp and Day Camp would increase in the number of children we have the opportunity to share a clear gospel presentation with.
