Summer is no time to take off!
When June and July hit, many of us want to just throttle it back and take a break! I'm no different! However, barriers that prevent families from overcoming poverty don't take breaks. Sure the calls for housing seem to lessen, but the homelessness has not gone away, just hiding for a while. Hunger has not gone away, healthcare needs have not gone away....

We recently filled the vacancy of our Transitional Home with a mom and her children. The stories we hear make me want to cry. "What more can we do?!"
I look at a family in poverty as being stuck in a whirlpool. It takes more than throwing a person a life preserver. It takes pulling out all the stops and using every resource at our disposal to get them out!

We could not do all that we do with out our Volunteers and Donors! If you are one of these, thank you so much for your generosity! We're not slowing down yet. There's a lot more to do!

We have three main fundraisers every year; our Spring & Fall Banquets and the ExtraGive! The Summer is usually very sparse time to try refilling our resources. But we are in need! If you see the value of what we do, please consider a small donation to keep our efforts moving forward!

Siloam Christian Fellowship Blesses Denver

During the week of June 17-22, REAL Life was able to coordinate the exceptional efforts of Siloam Christian Fellowship's youth group with various needs in the Denver Borough. The group chose to take their summer missions trip and spend it serving REAL Life and the Borough by painting several buildings in the Denver Memorial Park and working on the landscaping of an area widow. The group consisted of 20 individuals between the ages of 15 and 54 coming from the Goshen, Indiana area. They were an amazing blessing to our community! Thank you, Loren and team for your willingness to serve others! What an example of God's love!

The Denver House Project continues to build momentum into the Fall!
Land Development Plans are COMPLETED and Building Permits will be next!

Spaghetti Dinner at Salem Evangelical & Reformed Church A Success!

The members of Salem Evangelical & Reformed Church held a fundraiser meal on June 16 and raised over $1,400 for the REAL Life Community Services' Denver House Project!. Thank you to all who came, purchased, ate, and especially to those who prepared such a wonderful meal. We appreciate all the support we receive from our community!

It's volunteers like Clarence Rutt that keep this ministry serving the community!

We need you!

Volunteer needs:

Power Packs food distribution during school year
Mentors/volunteers for Mondays and Tuesdays nights starting in September
Lawn care at Lighthouse and Transitional Home
Simple repairs at both buildings
Volunteers for REAL Life Community Services Icy Treats booth at Denver Fair, Sept. 11-15
