Upcoming Events

  • Winter Workshop: Fraktur - Accomplished fraktur artist, Emily Smucker-Beidler will lead a two-part workshop Friday, January 31 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm and Saturday, February 1, from 9 am to 1 pm. Workshop participants will create a one-of-a-kind fraktur. Some prior fraktur drawing experience is helpful but not essential. All supplies will be included. Cost: $115 (Members receive their discount.)

  • Annual Music Night - Come out for an evening of incredible music on Saturday, February 8 at 7 pm. The fundraiser will be held at Neffsville Mennonite Church and feature SHALOM, Kyle Lehman, and the EMS Band. You can also join in lively congregational singing. Purchase tickets online at lmhs.org or by calling 717.393.9745. Tickets are $30 with complimentary admission for children under 12.

  • Sweetheart Dinner / Longhouse Fundraiser - An indigenous meal will be served on Saturday, February 14 at 7 pm at Community Mennonite Church of Lancaster. $75 per person. No member discounts

One-to-One Blacksmithing Class. Gift cards available! Taught by a Master Blacksmith on the grounds of the 1719 Hans Herr House Museum, the gift recipient will learn the basics of the craft and create a simple project. For more info follow this link - bit.ly/121Blacksmith.

  • Manages the daily operations of the museum and site of the 1719 Herr House and reproduction Eastern Woodland Longhouse.

  • Retail Specialist
  • Administratively manages retail offerings across all service centers: Historical Society, Mennonite Information Center, 1719 Herr House & Museum, and online. The Retail Specialist provides visual merchandising, purchasing, inventory management, and reporting services to meet our mission, customer expectations, and a positive bottom line.

  • Customer Care
  • Warmly greets and assists Historical Society (2215 Millstream Rd, Lancaster) customers in person, on the phone, via email. Provides attentive service and an excellent customer experience. Assists with office support tasks to accomplish the organization's overall mission
