LMC Office Events & Information

STEP stands for "Study and Training for Effective Pastoral Ministry."

STEP provides three years of non-traditional ministry leadership training. Training occurs through online assignments and one class meeting per month, for nine months, for each of the three years. Students travel together through the three years in a cohort model.

Kairos course
October 21 - November 21

Kairos is a nine-session interactive study of the Purpose and Plan of God for His people and His world from Genesis to Revelation.

Kairos is for all Christians at any point in their journey with God. It is not a "missions" course. It is an opportunity for all of God's people to have their worldview transformed and aligned with God's heart for the nations. He has called us all to play a part in His mission both locally and globally and there are many different roles to fill.

Landis Communities is excited to share that its newest rental apartments for those aged 55 plus are now open.  Landis Place on King is located at 239 West King Street. It was born out of a desire to create abundant choices, foster increased community, and provide moderate and lower-income housing in Downtown Lancaster. No Longer Alone Family Support Group , now supported by Landis Communities, will meet the fourth Sunday of the month.  The guest speaker for June will be Josef Berthold, Pastor at West End Mennonite Church.  His presentation "Sharing about Ministry to Persons with Mental Illness" will be followed by a time of sharing. The public meeting is scheduled for Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the Crossings Meeting Room of the Calvin G. and Janet C. High Learning and Wellness Center at Landis Communities, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA. The monthly meetings provide a place for those who have a loved one living with mental illness to learn and share their experiences.

Rare & Used Book Auction

Join Mennonite Life and other book collectors on Friday, July 14, at 6:30 p.m. for a Rare & Used Book Auction in the Mennonite Life Community Room, 2215 Millstream Road, Lancaster.

This auction will feature a rich variety of written works relevant to both local and historical interests. Lots will
include Menno Simons' 1681 Opera Omnia Theologica in Dutch, with original leather binding, and 'T Merg van de Historien der Martelaren, written in 1722 in Dutch, with original vellum binding. You will also see rare finds such as The Earth is the Lord's by John L. Ruth and Building on the Gospel Foundation by Burdge and Horst, as well as an 1849 edition of the Martyrs Mirror and a 1768 Nurnberg Bible. The catalog also offers a wide selection of classic used books.

The full auction catalog is available for download at mennonitelife.org/events. Bids may be submitted online and by mail until Thursday, July 13. Auction books will be displayed in the Collections Building several weeks before the event.
