As Rep. Ryan puts it, It's important that people hear the word that's used. It's medical hazardous 'waste.' And for me - that's my child. This legislation has drawn national attention after State Rep. Wendy Ullman (D-Bucks) callously commented in the committee vote on the bill that "an early miscarriage is just some mess on a napkin." (See below for additional news coverage.) Rep. Ullman has since apologized for her "poorly chosen" words but continues spreading lies about what the bill would do, claiming it requires "ritual burial or cremation" following a miscarriage. That's just false and something we have outlined now on our website. Thank you for your help by contacting your State Representative. Health care facilities currently treat a baby that has died from a miscarriage or abortion as medical waste. These are babies, not medical waste and we should treat them with the same dignity as other human remains. To email your State Representative, click here or go to pafamily.org/showrespect. |
