Merrill G. Freed to Show His Work at Landis Homes Retirement Community. An exhibition featuring Merrill G. Freed is on display at Landis Homes now through January.

Since the first grade, Merrill realized he enjoyed drawing. He was encouraged by teachers and especially his eighth grade art teacher and Principal. At the age of 15 he submitted a picture of the "Draw Me" girl found in a magazine and submitted it to the school. That year he enrolled in the Art Instruction School of Minneapolis, Minnesota and completed the prescribed course in "Illustrating and Related Art." Later he studied oil painting under the teaching of Dr. Ralph Lewars in Mt. Gretna, PA and also taught Drawing and Painting to interested persons in a therapeutic setting.

Merrill has had recent health challenges in the past 18 months that have curtailed his painting career. This may be his final show. The show will run from November 4th – the end of January. The Crossings Gallery is located in the Crossings on the campus of Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz. It is open daily to the public, from 8 AM to 7 PM.

For more information, call 717-381-3550.

Eastern Mennonite Missions
Kingdom Teams
Good morning Gehman Mennonite Church,

I wanted to reach out to you to share about opportunities for youth to serve with EMM through K-teams. K-teams allow middle and high school youth groups to learn and grow alongside one another through service.

We are now offering two different tracks for K-teams. K-Teams Local allows youth to serve alongside community partners in Lancaster and Lebanon to reach out to underserved children and youth in these cities. Groups stay in a dorm-style campus setting for a week, allowing them to grow in a context of community and learning. Each day, teams participate in relational outreach activities such as leading crafts, games, or other activities.

For the first time, we're taking K-Teams overseas! K-Teams Global allows participants to serve in an international context and get a taste for missions. Participants will gather for team building and training for a day in April and May and again for a couple of days in June before heading to the Czech Republic for a two-to three-week trip to join in leading an English camp. As students interact with EMM workers in their context, they will be able to see the concepts they have learned come to life in an impactful way.

As I prepare for the summer season, I am eager to see how God works through us. I would love to connect with you and discuss ways that the youth in your church can join. I look forward to hearing from you!

Blessings!
