June 2022
On May 20th,despite the rain and the tent almost blowing away, that didn't stop us from selling smoked pulled pork meals! After the storm passed over, the sound of rumbling cars began as they pulled into the Unruh Car Show, and people began to stop by for pulled pork! It turned out to be a beautiful night for a downtown Denver car show!

We couldn't have "pulled" off all that we did if it wasn't for our amazing volunteers, including the group above from Diversa Business Alliance, putting in such great effort! We had a total of 21 volunteers throughout the evening and we raised around $4,000 at the event!

If you bought a meal/sandwich - thank you for being a part of this fundraiser in helping us continue to connect the community to HOPE!
We want to thank all of our food distribution volunteers as Power Packs is done for the school year! Cocalico Food Pantry will continue to serve the community all summer long.  If you are interested in volunteering to help, please fill out a volunteer application on our website.  We can always use help on those client choice shopping days, the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month.
We are having our Community Garden again at First Fruits Farm and Orchard! Please consider volunteering and helping us harvest fruits and vegetables this season. Harvesting begins in June. If you have any questions or interests, please contact Cha Her at Cha@reallcs.org.

Our next Young at Heart event will be June 1st! Come out to enjoy coffee, chatting, crafts, games and more! Special speaker Tori Motter from the Adamstown YMCA will be there! Please note the time change.

These events are FREE for anyone ages 60+!

First Thursdays of the month, Mental Health America will talk about different aspects of mental health.
Second Thursdays will be discussions on different ways to improve our lives.
Third Thursdays will be a different hands-on project or activity.
Fourth Thursdays will be focused on financial literacy.
Fifth Thursdays will be game night.
These Thursday evening discussions are open to all. Childcare can be provided upon request. For more information, call our office 717-336-7797 or visit our website

LMC ARMS Announcement

With regret, the LMC Association of Retired Ministers and Spouses (ARMS) announces the cancellation of the 2022 Retreat and
the closure of the organization. We want to thank those of you who helped make the numerous retreats in the past a success and wish all our members a meaningful and satisfying retirement.

Dear Lancaster Conference Pastors,

We are offering you a FREE two night stay at The Haft, a healing farm for families and individuals. We are located in Bradford County, PA.

We invite you to come refresh and renew on what is called "a holy mountain" by Ken Reinford at Petra. We are offering a free 2 night stay for pastors and their wives in Lancaster Conference in hopes that you also will come to love and trust our ministry and refer people here who need help.

The Haft was founded in 1958 and is currently managed by missionaries Drew and Cindy Metcalf. Their sending Church is Weaverland and they served as the Youth Pastor Couple for four years, then served in Guatemala for 10 years, and now serve as missionaries at The Haft. Galen and Phyllis Groff, long-time EMM missionaries, also now serve at The Haft.

The Haft is here to help individuals, marriages and families heal from life's struggles. We especially enjoy helping youth and parents heal together. "He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and children to their fathers" (Malachi 4:6). We want this holy mountain to be a resource for your congregation.

To find out more about The Haft, please visit our website Family-Refresh.com or call us at 570-363-2189

Our heart is to work together with you,
Drew & Cindy Metcalf
