LMC Updates

Assembly '26 Was Amazing!

Thank you to everyone who came out to join us for our first ever Assembly and YouthCon! It was wonderful to gather together fellowship with our brothers and sisters from all across our LMC family.

Soon, we'll be making all the recordings from our plenary sessions (both YouthCon's and Assembly's) available to you to watch. Keep an eye out for an email with the links!

And start getting excited for Assembly and YouthCon '28!

The Global Leadership Summit

"For years, the Weaverland leadership team has attended GLS. What started as a one-off event quickly became a priority in our annual calendar. We set aside two days to grow and invest in our personal and spiritual leadership together as a team. I assure you, GLS brings top-shelf resourcing and will grow and challenge any current or aspiring LMC leader who desires to grow their spiritual leadership.

Weaverland is thrilled to again host GLS on August 6-7. We would be honored to have you join us at this premier leadership equipping event."

Learn more online at Weaverland's website.

Come and See: West Africa | Eastern Mennonite Missions
Join EMM this January 6–18, 2027, as we visit the growing Christian communities of Gambia, Senegal, and Guinea-Bissau. Participants will learn about the growth of the Anabaptist church, experience the mission context of the region, and witness how the gospel has taken root among previously unreached peoples. As this is a spiritual journey through a developing part of the world, participants should be prepared to experience conditions that are less comfortable than those to which they may be accustomed when traveling in the developed world. Trip cost, including airfare from/to Dulles, local transportation, and lodging, but excluding vaccinations, medicine, and souvenirs, is $2,500 per person. Learn more and apply to join this trip at EMM.ORG/TRIPS.

Annual Storytelling Night

In a celebration of stories that transcend boundaries, Mennonite Life hosts its Annual Storytelling Night on Monday, August 3 at 7 p.m. at Forest Hills Mennonite Church (100 Quarry Road, Leola, PA 17540). Throughout the evening, storytellers Felixa V. de Kunkle and Conrad Kanagy will relate a series of alternating short-form anecdotes from their lives. Event is free; donations welcome. More at mennonitelife.org/events.

Going deeper...

We interrupt the news cycle of what divides us with the opportunity to find what connects us! Join us as we share and listen to each other’s stories of what it means to belong. Together, we’ll reflect on how we can create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

We hope you’ll join us for our next Community Circle on Tuesday, July 7, at Neighbors Community Center, 450 Prince Street, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Let us know you are coming by registering at advoz.org/events.

Community Circles provide a safe and welcoming environment for people from all walks of life to come together and connect through conversation around various topics. Through open-hearted conversation on the first Tuesday of each month, we aim to foster empathy, understanding, and a sense of shared humanity.

Share. Listen. Connect.

Circle Dialogues are designed to be inclusive! This ancient practice brings people together together, strengthening our capacity for human connection across areas of commonality and difference. Join us in creating this hope for stronger communities.

  • Share Stories. Circles focus our sharing on personal experiences that have impacted us, rather than simply ideologies or opinions.
  • Listen. The slower pace and order of Circles encourage deep listening, and understanding across diverse viewpoints.
  • Build Connection. Stories connect and strengthen us, individually and collectively.

First Tuesday of the month (different themes each month), 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Facilitated by Advoz. Hosted by Neighbors Community Center.

Friday, July 10, 2026, 5 to 8 p.m.

$30

Two ways to donate to CommunityAid and benefit Neighbors Community Center

Getting rid of extra clothing, shoes, and household items? Consider donating them to CommunityAid Thrift Store and Donation Center. For each pound of donated clothing and shoes, Neighbors Community Center receives $.13!

Here are two easy ways to unburden your closet or attic:

  1. Drop off your new or gently used items at the cart in our side lobby (450 North Prince Street, Lancaster, Pa.) open during Neighbors Cafe hours (currently Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.). No further action is needed.

  2. Drop off items, including furniture, household items, and larger items, at the CommunityAid Donation Center, 31 Rohrerstown Road, Lancaster, PA (or any of their other locations, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

Mention code 50354 to give credit to Neighbors Community Center each time you donate. Remember this number. Write it on a post-it. Save it as a note on your phone. Take a screenshot. Get a tattoo (just kidding).

We appreciate your involvement and CommunityAid's partnership as we are all Neighbors Helping Neighbors!

Neighbors Community Center at Hub450 is a welcoming place to connect, learn, and celebrate. We welcome those who have lived in Lancaster for many years and also our new neighbors from across the country or around the globe.

Programs include the Neighbors Welcome Desk, English classes for refugees and immigrants, Global Women’s Village (a co-op for artisans), and after-school tutoring.

Hub450 is also available to rent as a venue for your next corporate, social, or private event.
