LMC Updates

Sacred Listening

"I had the privilege of serving as a simultaneous interpreter between English and Spanish at the 58th Annual Southeast Mennonite Conference in Sarasota, Florida. Every time I put on a headset with a mic, I am reminded how grateful I am that God has allowed me to use this gift for his people."

Alma Ovalle of Sarasota Community Church in Sarasota, FL shares how she uses her gift of language interpretation for the glory of God and his kingdom. As LMC becomes increasingly diverse across languages and ethnicities, interpreters like Alma are critically important in unifying the body by allowing everyone to hear and understand in their own language.

You can read Alma's full reflection on our website here.

Thank you Alma for sharing your story and for you work as an interpreter!
