Two significant distance-learning opportunities
are available to you this winter,
January 4-March 12

Preston Yoder, Caring for the Congregation
Mark Miller, Leader Self Care

Training in Ministry classes are designed to equip people to more effectively minister in the home, church, neighborhood, and work environments. All classes are delivered online with state-of-the-art learning methods. To apply, go to https://rosedale.edu/tim-application/.

Leader Self-Care facilitates a healthy ministry by setting and maintaining boundaries, working with a Pastor Congregation Relations Committee, creating a ministry/family balance, and other activities.  Mark Miller is a pastor with CMC and a long-time pastor. In our current situation, this class is quite relevant. Wheaton University recently posted a resource for leaders where it says, "to care for others well during this season of COVID-19 will require us to learn how to care for ourselves at the same time" (https://www.wheaton.edu/media/humanitarian-disaster-institute/tip-sheets/Final-pastor-self-care-during-COVID-19.pdf). Also note the leader resources at https://lmcchurches.org/pastoral-resource/.

Caring for the Congregation helps leaders develop fundamental skills of caring for people who are hurt and/or seeking guidance through life stages. Preston Yoder is a CMC with many years of experience as a pastor and congregational leader. With so much normal activity disrupted, The Deacon's Bench says, "From cleaning to social distancing, children's ministry to pastoral health, there are many considerations for the care and safety of your people." This course provides practical, relevant, and timely guidance and support to congregational leaders.

Training in Ministry, or TiM, developed through a collaboration of Rosedale Bible College, CMC, and LMC. The program includes a total of 16 courses organized in five tracks. The complete program brochure is attached. Each 10-week course earns three credits and costs $900.

The Winter session runs from January 4-March 12, 2021.
LMC students are eligible for scholarships.
https://lmcchurches.org/resources/downloadable-resources/,
Select Finances and Grants.

Students who complete three courses in a track will be invited to attend a free course (3-credits) in a retreat format at Rosedale Bible College in August of 2021.

As you consider this option for yourself, consider others in your congregation who might similarly benefit, pass on this information, and encourage their participation.

CELEBRATE WITH US!

Mennonite Central Committee invites you to join Celebration 2020: MCC at 100, a live-streamed event commemorating a century of MCC's ministry on Saturday, Oct. 17, starting at 6:50 p.m. (EDT). The event will feature photos, videos, and storytelling that highlight MCC's work over the years. Former MCC leader and pastor Leonard Dow of Philadelphia will inspire participants to walk boldly into the next century of MCC's ministry while talented musicians will lead in prayer and thanksgiving. You can find more information about MCC's centennial and log in for the live-streamed event at mcc.org/celebration-2020.
Women's Regional Gathering
Due to COVID-19, this event will NOT meet on November 7, 2020.
Postponed until Saturday, November 6, 2021

Likely in 2021 the schedule and seven workshops will go as originally planned.  Please make this new edit on your calendars and releases.  God only knows who of us cannot serve as team members in 2021. Perhaps some will wish to be replaced. In that same rhythm… I am thinking who may take my place if in fact I no longer am able to serve.

Even if you can only help for an hour or two, please feel free to sign up for a slot.
We want to be good stewards of people's safety and health. To accommodate the appropriate COVID-19 guidelines, EMM will provide work masks for all volunteers, and everyone must abide by 6-foot social distancing parameters.
