Happy Friday, Phil,
I am so excited I couldn't wait for next month to update you! So I'm shooting out this quick email to you today! I wanted to make sure you're aware of a few things;
- Our Warehouse916 is almost complete and Dedication Service is on Wednesday, Sept 30, at 6:30pm. Check out the attached picture! I'd love for you to join us if you can! This building, located behind the Declaration House, will serve our expanded Cocalico food distribution programs; Power Packs Project (weekly groceries for families with children on free/reduced lunches), and our new "Client Choice" food pantry that we are now offering to anyone in the Cocalico SD who needs it, once a month. For more information, check out our website https://www.reallcs.org/social-services/power-packs. If you know of someone interested in our "Client Choice", have them schedule an appointment with our social worker, Chris Hibbert. Feel free to call our office M-F 9am-4pm at 717-336-7797. Starting next week, we will also be hosting a "First Friday Food Drive" at the Warehouse from 3-5pm every first Friday of the month. A flyer will be sent out with more information. If you would like your church to be more involved with our food drives, we'd appreciate it! Feel free to reply to this email or call our office.
- Our new Early Learning Mentor, Deeann Sherman, has started with us! Partnering with Cocalico School District and CAP, REAL Life is the support agency for Deeann to operate out of. We are excited to have her as part of our team! She is available to meet with families in our community who have infants or toddlers to help prepare them to learn. If you know of a young Cocalico family that could be helped by a learning mentor, please email us at info@reallcs.org. Or call our office 717-336-7797.
- Our new Velocity Mentoring Program is in the process of recruiting young adults to join a team of peers this fall to be trained on how to mentor high school students. This 8 week program will build a close-knit support group. They will then start mentoring Cocalico High School students in the spring and teach them to mentor Cocalico Middle School students in the fall of 2021. We need young adults who are on fire for Jesus and would like to change the world one student at a time! The class is starting on Tuesday Oct 6, at 6pm, at the Lighthouse Youth Center! We will provide dinner each of the 8 weeks of training and team building. This would be great for young adults/college students who want to go into youth ministry or counseling. We'll also accept college interns for this program. For more information check out our Website https://www.reallcs.org/youth-development/mentoring-program.
- I hope you are able to make our Fall banquet featuring Ryan & Friends! Admission is FREE, but you do need to register. Table sponsorships are still available, or just invite a few couples to join you! The deadline is Oct 5th and seats are filling fast! This event will be sold out and we wouldn't want you to miss it! Thank you so much for your time and attention! Together we are Changing Lives and Transforming our Community!
Have a wonderful weekend!
