Spring Leadership Assembly
Friday, May 26, 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, May 27, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 
The Spring Leadership Assembly will focus on the topic of church multiplication. The Friday evening and Saturday event will be hosted by East Petersburg Mennonite Church and will include input from Omar Guzman and Antonio Ulloa. Saturday will include these six workshops:  Pastor Burnout and Discouragement, Community Engagement, Women in Leadership, Women Planting Churches, Church Administration, and Intentional Multiplication of Leaders. There will be a $30 per person registration fee. Translation in other languages will be provided as requested. For more information, contact Joselyn Santiago at

Applications for the Urban Education Grant are being accepted, for the 2017-2018 academic year, for those who are in school or have children in school. Applications are due no later than July 1, 2017.

Peru Trek for PROMESA
Adventurers needed! Hike Peru's wild, stunning Ausangate Trek and see the Rainbow Mountains (Vinicunca). The trek will raise money for PROMESA, a Peruvian Mennonite school. Lancaster Family History Conference 
The Thirty-eighth Annual Lancaster Family History Conference presents "New Arrivals in a New Land: A Tribute to Our 1717 Immigrant Families" with a keynote by John L. Ruth. It takes place from May 18-20 at the Lancaster Farm and Home Center. Register at lmhs.org/events/history-conference.

Bicycle Tour of Native American Sites
Catch the fresh air and learn about Native Americans in Lancaster County with a bicycle tour in Conestoga starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 13 with the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society. Manor Township was home to numerous settlements of Native Americans. Participants will explore these sites on a 16-mile bike hike. Bikers will hear storytellers talking about this saga at 14 stops along the way. Registration costs $30, $20 for students. Music in Worship
Amish, Church of the Brethren, River Brethren, Groffdale, Weaverland, and Lancaster Conference Mennonites will gather together at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center and sing each other's favorite hymns on Thursday, May 4, at 7 pm. This evening is free and open to the public. Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center is located at 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata, Pennsylvania.

Golf Tournament
Need a break from the office and a breath of fresh air? Please register for the LMS Golf Benefit Tournament on May 10 at the Conestoga Country Club. Proceeds go to Financial Aid for LMS Students.

There are two flights, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. You can register a foursome or register individually and we will help you find your team. There is nothing like golfing with parishoners!

Parkinson's Support Group Meeting

There The next meeting of the Lancaster County Parkinson's Support Group will be held on May 15. The topic for the evening is "Recent Medication Updates for Parkinson's Disease," presented by Sol De Jesus, MD, who is a movement specialist at Penn State Hershey. The presentation will be followed by a time of questions and answers. The public meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Westview Community Room at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz. The monthly meetings are designed for education and support for persons diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and their families. Annual Golf Tournament
Adult Day Services at Landis Homes invites teams, individuals and potential sponsors to register for the June 2nd Golf Tournament at Foxchase Golf Club. The Alzheimer's Association and Garden Spot Village co-sponsor a support group for family caregivers of persons with dementia. Ann Dismore and Amanda Horning, Music Therapists with Masonic Homes, will present on the power of music to bring life. Hachi: A Dog's Tale, starring Richard Gere and Joan Allen, is based both on true events (those of a Japanese professor and his loyal Akita during the 1920s) and a 1987 film (Hachi Monogatari, a Japanese adaptation of the beloved story). This newest version, set in the fictional New England town of Bedridge, tells the story of Professor Parker Wilson and the unexpected bond he and his family forge with an abandoned puppy - a puppy that would later come to demonstrate loyalty and duty beyond understanding and expectation.

We Help Children 
Hebrews 11 says we walk by faith not by sight, and goes on to list the heroes of the faith. By faith, God keeps growing our ministry called We Help Children and we are receiving more heroes to help us! We just received a nurse providing medical clinics in dirt poor villages and a horse therapy leader to help children heal in orphanages in Central America. Our ministry goal is to provide the Best Services for children in the worst places. We now have multiple interns, volunteers and missionaries serving in multiple countries helping children in crisis, including in inner city Chicago. What our growing ministry needs now are heroes serving in these new missionary positions: Development Director, Newsletter Writer, and Prayer Group Coordinator. Run to Help Children 
The Annual Color & Foam fun 5K is coming up this summer! This crazy,family-friendly trail run benefits the work of missionaries of Weaverland Mennonite Church helping children in crisis in Central America. He will focus on how the wisdom of God reveals the cross of Jesus Christ as the sure foundation for transformation, renewal and reform. Chatter Chow and Cheerful Service
is planned for May 6, 2017 at the MCC Material Resource Center in  Ephrata. The hours are 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Atlantic Coast Conference Mennonite Women aging extend the invitation for all women from age 12-95 to join together for fellowship, MCC work and a light lunch of soup and bread. More details to follow in the coming months. Each woman is asked to bring a pint of chicken noodle or vegetable soup. Bread and beverage will be provided. Food and lodging are less than $200 per person until April 10, and the additional registration fee is waived for members of Evana and Evana's partner congregations. This is a great event for youth groups, Sunday school classes, families, and church leaders. There will be activities for all ages along with plenty of time to enjoy the lake and other activities on the university campus. Benefit Concert
A benefit concert sponsored by Friends of Meserete Kristos (Mennonite) College in Ethiopia featuring the Blossom Hill String Band and the Garment of Praise Quartet will be held on May 7, 2017, at 7 pm.. at Blossom Hill Mennonite Church, 333 Delp Road, Lancaster, Pa.
An offering will be taken and all the proceeds will go toward student scholarships for church leaders for this fast growing church in Ethiopia.

A handmade comforter provides not only warmth but also a tangible message to people that their needs are not forgotten. Be Part of a Work and Learn Team in Nairobi, Kenya November 6-14
MCC is looking for a group of around five people who love working with children, can plan a mini vacation Bible school... and are excited about a trip to Africa! The children's programming and supervision of eight youth ages 11-17 and eight children ages 2-8 takes place during the November MCC Africa Team Meetings. The trip is a great way to see some of MCC's East Africa programming as well as do some sightseeing in the beautiful country of Kenya. Group commitment is needed by June.
