REAL Life REAL Hope Spring Banquet 2023
What a spectacular evening with Peter Greer from Hope International! One highlight was when our friend, Maggie Leon, received the "Inspiring Hope" Award for her commitment to bringing hope to her neighbors at the Declaration House.  Her neighbor was living in a one bedroom apartment, sharing a room with her daughter. Maggie offered to switch apartments! So now little 6 year old Caralena has a room with a princess bed of her own! Thank you, Maggie, for inspiring Hope and giving us a model to follow, "to be kind to our neighbor!"
Left, Maggie Leon received the "Inspiring Hope Award" from Rod. Right, Rod hugs Commissioner, Josh Parsons, as he comes up to speak.
Left, Hard working staff and volunteers! Clarence Rutt - Facilities Maintenance Manager, Sue Moyer - Events Coordinator, Beny Iordanescu - Programs Coordinator.
Registration table, Sunny Redcay - Administrator, Cathy Hess - Board Member, Mary-Beth Levan - Director of Food Distribution, and Holly Rutt - Volunteer.
Thanks to everyone who attended and supported us!

Update from our Early Learning Mentor!
Our STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) Play and Learn ended with a splash and a snack!  (Quite literally…we explored the concepts of sinking/floating with our Cocalico eaglets!)  We're looking forward to a virtual, spring cooking class coming up soon and the debut of a Parent Café, an opportunity for parents to share joys and challenges of parenting while learning protective factors to build strong families.

If you are interesting in learning more about our opportunities for your birth to five year old, please reach out to me at
dsherman@caplanc.org.

Our community is growing and we would love for you to be a part of it!
Prayer Request:
Please pray for Robyn Redcay.  She is a volunteer at REAL Life and daughter of Rod and Sunny.  She has just been diagnosed with leukemia.  Feel free to follow her journey to recover on "Caring Bridge", by clicking the button below.
