CrossNet Ministries' Monthly Update!

Dear Supporters,

I am grateful to share an update from CrossNet Ministries! Please take a few minutes to read updates, stats and stories from the month of April. If you have any questions, please let us know!

April 2023 Stats & Stories

We had so much to celebrate this month between the Easter Meal Distribution, Volunteer Appreciation Week gatherings, and Cross Jr. graduation parties!

Thank you to the many local businesses who organized food drives for the CrossNet Easter Mal Distribution, like our friends at New Holland Auto Group! Through the generosity and kindness of these partners, 107 families in our community received an Easter meal!

We had the privilege of celebrating CrossNet Volunteers and Mentors at various Volunteer Appreciation gatherings in April. These members of our community are faithful servants of Christ, and we are honored to work alongside them to offer help and hope to those in our community.

It was also exciting to celebrate our Cross Jr. graduates this month! The Cross Jr. program for 4th & 5th graders matches each student with an adult mentor who will work with them to build self-confidence, gain life skills and have fun.

Graduation parties were held at New Holland Elementary, Blue Ball Elementary, and Brecknock Elementary. Every graduating 5th grader received their very own bible! Thank you to all of the amazing Volunteers, Mentors, and school staff who partner with Cross Jr.! Because of you, fourth and fifth graders get to be mentored and hear about the love of Jesus.

We are so grateful for how our community uplifts one another and reflects Christ. We truly are stronger and better together!

April Stats & Current Needs

Stories Encourage You!

We praise God that many individuals, CrossNet works with, were recently able to get housed! We had three families and one individual sign a new lease for housing this month! One family signed a new lease after graduating from our Pathways to Housing program.

Joan Yunginger, Director of Social Services, summed it up best: "While the housing portion of what we do is challenging, we are thankful for God's favor and blessings! We are thankful for the programs in the county that CrossNet is able to be a part of as it enhances the opportunities for those we serve at CrossNet."

CrossNet Food Programs: Partner With Us

Did you know that the CrossNet Food Pantry served 450 individuals in April? This number has increased by nearly 100 individuals compared to last April.

According to our Food & Nutrition Manager, Amy Marburger, we are now averaging about 35 families a week, and she expects that number to only grow.

With numbers increasing, and increasing food prices, we are reaching out to you for additional support!

We have a variety of Food Programs that you can partner with us on including the upcoming Free Summer Lunch Program (summer lunches for kids while school is out for the summer), CrossNet Meal packs and the CrossNet Food Pantry!

Please see the ways you can get involved and partner with us below:

  • Do a food drive with your family, friends, neighborhood, workplace, church, etc.
  • This could be a great project you do with your kids this summer!
  • Here's a donation list of our current needs for the Summer Lunch Program: Sandwich baggies, granola bars, individually wrapped snacks (ex. Cookies, rice Krispie treats, etc), brown paper lunch bags, boxed- foil sheets.
  • Or you can look at the general food pantry needs on our website here.
  • Volunteer to sign up to help with the Summer Lunch Program here.

Thank you for considering the ways you can partner with us to address hunger in our community and offer help and hope in the name of Jesus!
