Winter Workshop: Fraktur Tulips

Join local artist Emily Smucker-Beidler for a hands-on workshop exploring the art of fraktur on Friday, February 21, 12:30–3:30 p.m. in the Mennonite Life Community Room. Participants will begin with a tulip template and will create a small finished piece in their own style. Smucker-Beidler will also instruct participants how to transform their piece into a personalized bookplate. The workshop costs $130 per person. All materials, including a personal watercolor set, are included. All ability levels are welcome.

Pre-registration is required, and class capacity is limited. Register by February 20 at mennonitelife.org/events.

Author Talk: Radicals & Reformers with Troy Osborne

Mennonite Life will host a virtual author talk with Troy Osborne, author of Radicals & Reformers: A Survey of Global Anabaptist History Thursday, February 20, 6:30–7:30 p.m. ET. Radicals & Reformers traces the origins and development of the Anabaptist and Mennonite movements from their beginnings in Europe through their spread across the globe. Author Troy Osborne will join virtually from Canada. Register for the webinar at mennonitelife.org/events.

Saturday Open Libraries at Mennonite Life

Mennonite Life joins a global faith community in celebrating the 500th anniversary of Anabaptism in 2025. The library offers a wealth of research materials relevant to the movement's rich history, including church records, history books, and genealogy resources.

The Mennonite Life library will be open three Saturdays during the winter: February 22, March 8, and March 22, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. The Mennonite Life Museum and museum store will be open as well. All are welcome to visit the library. Use of the library's research materials is complimentary for Mennonite Life members, and $7 per day for non-members. Mennonite Life staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist researchers. Visitors are encouraged to pre-register at mennonitelife.org/events and mention specific research topics in mind.
