Gratefully yours, | Jody Fausnight Director of Advancement | | Venture Program Offers Unique Business-Student Partnership Opportunities | | The HMS Venture Program, for grades 9-12 students, continues the faith-based, hands-on and student-focused instruction that HMS is known for, plus much more! Missions trips, full-day and half-day job shadowing opportunities, internships and the chance to study at your own pace are some ways the program helps students prepare for vocational and/or college placements. Businesses desiring more information on partnerships or internship options for a junior or senior student may contact Dawn Landes, Administrator/Principal (717-354-7100 x1006 or dlandes@hinkletownschool.org) | | PA EITC/OSTC Tax Credit Program for Scholarships | | Did you know that the state tax credit incentive program for scholarships assists more than 60% of our students with opportunities to attend Hinkletown Mennonite School. This program has continued to grow for nearly 20 years now and puts private, Christian education within reach for many low and moderate income families in our region. Currently, we serve students in Northern Lancaster County and Berks County, including some from Reading City and greater Berks County.
For those involved in this exciting program and currently directing gifts through PA Mennonite Scholarship Organization (PAMSO), please look for their new name: Everence Foundation, beginning in 2020.
Special Purpose Entities Some business leaders and those who may not be able to receive tax credits through the traditional business application are seeking to do so through new Special Purpose Entities. Feel free to contact me with questions regarding this growing, popular tax credit option.
An SPE may be beneficial to you if you have not received approval for tax credits in any form, or have only received partial approval of your proposed application credits. Ask for more details and I will be glad to help you. If approved through an SPE when the state contacts you to indicate you can roll off a waiting list with their direct program, you can simply decline credits at that time and pursue which option was approved first for your individual or business taxes.
Should you or your accountant have any questions or need additional contact details for a scholarship organization, please contact me (717-354-7100 x1005 or jfausnight@hinkletownschool.org) | | | | We are very grateful to the many different businesses and individuals who give generously to HMS through these scholarship programs each year. These EITC/OSTC gifts help provide need-based scholarships to over half of the current HMS students! You can apply online!
