EVENTS

Join us for an exploration of Amish kitchen gardens with author Beth Oberholtzer. Oberholtzer's book explores Amish family gardens as portraits of the women who design, tend, and harvest them. Included are 32 family recipes straight from the garden: hot-pepper jam, fried green tomatoes, sweet dill pickles, sauerkraut for a crowd, corn fritters, and creamed celery.

These events are complimentary and take place in the Mennonite Life Community Room.

See more details at mennonitelife.org/events.

1719 Museum!

The 1719 Museum is open for the season! Stop in Friday & Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., or book your tour in advance at mennonitelife.org and 1719 Museum Seasonal Hours

Summer Internship

Mennonite Life offers a Summer Internship Opportunity p in two areas: the archives and the museum. Working alongside staff members, interns will gain insight into the daily operation of a museum and archive. While the intern will work primarily in one of the two areas, they will be introduced to both throughout their time at Mennonite Life. Interns will also receive career counseling and coaching. Find application information at mennonitelife.org/about/employment/.

Support the Mission - Donate Here

Dear Friends,

Have you ever dreamed of making a real difference? That dream is within reach through your support of our iCare Community Event.

Imagine a community where no one goes to bed hungry. With your participation, we can turn this vision into reality. Our annual iCare Community Event helps raise essential funds for the ongoing efforts of Blessings of Hope. An estimated 30-40% of food produced in America is wasted, yet in 2008, nearly 50 million people in America struggled to get enough to eat. With your support, we can produce and deliver the equivalent of 1.8 million meals every month. This, in turn, empowers regional ministries, churches, disaster relief organizations, and food banks to serve their local communities.

Join us at iCare next Saturday, June 1 and bid on some of the auction items including a Jura Latta machine, patio furniture from Agway, a girl's bicycle from Shirks Bike Shop, gift cards from Red Lobster, Outback Steakhouse, Plaza Azteca, Dutch Wonderland, and Fox Meadows Creamery, and tickets to "Daniel" at Sight and Sound and Hershey Gardens. Finally, we're excited to announce that the biggest ticket item this year is a new 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid LIMITED edition minivan! We are incredibly grateful for your consideration and generosity. Your support sparks change and brings hope to our community.

Together, we are catalysts for change. Thank you for standing with us in support of iCare. We eagerly await the opportunity to celebrate our collective impact. See more details about this 3- day event here.

As a valued member of the Blessings of Hope community, we are pleased to provide you with our second quarter newsletter. In this edition, we're

focusing on the updates on Oregon Dairy's donation, a Partner Ministry story, information on our annual iCare Community Event, and an update from our Director of Communications. We hope you'll enjoy the updates.

With our thanks,

Blessings of Hope

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
