Dear Friends,
Did you ever wonder how a Hands of Hope box gets from our site in Leola to the hands of those who need it?
The process starts with our amazing volunteers who each place a donated item in each box like an assembly line as it moves down the conveyor belt. Boxes are packed with the food we currently have available and is a nice assortment of fresh and shelf-stable foods. The boxes are taped shut and shrink-wrapped onto pallets to protect them during transit. These prepackaged food boxes weigh around 30-40 lbs. each. The boxes that were packed are then loaded onto a truck and sent to our partner ministries empowering them to serve the community in a tangible way.
Our volunteers are the driving force that makes all this possible. We hope you will take a few minutes to watch this video to get a better understanding of the entire process.
With our thanks, Blessings of Hope |
