Thank You for Making our Pulled Pork Fundraiser Possible!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our recent Pulled Pork Fundraiser — whether you purchased a meal, volunteered your time, or simply helped spread the word. Your support means the world to us!

While the weather didn't hold up for us as long as we would have liked, we're still deeply grateful for the opportunity to gather, serve delicious food, and share our mission with the community. Our team gave it their all — from prepping the pork to packaging each meal with care — and we are so proud of their willingness to serve.

We were able to raise over $2,900, and that impact is something to celebrate.

Thank you again for being part of our journey. Stay tuned for more events and opportunities to make a difference together!

Calling All Helping Hands

We're excited to invite you to a special volunteer opportunity this Saturday, May 3rd, from 9–11 AM!

Join us as we continue to kick off the spring season by planting a variety of produce at a local farm. Later this year, these crops will be harvested and shared with families in need through our food distribution programs.

It's a wonderful way to get outside, give back, and make a lasting impact in our community.

Interested in helping?

We'd love to have you! Please contact Beny Iordanescu by phone at (717) 336-7797 ext. 204 or by email at beny@reallcs.org.

Let's grow something good together!

Blooming with Kindness: This Spring's Giving Spirit

This spring has brought more than just April showers and May flowers but also an amazing number of donations from lots of different groups including Columbia Kettle Works, Martindale Mennonite Church, and the Cocalico Volleyball Alumni. In addition, our faithful community givers continue to show up each month for our First Friday Food Drives.

As wonderful as donations are, the gift of people's time is also something we are continually blessed by. On May 17th, we had a special family collect food and household items for us at Weaver Markets. As these items were being delivered and unloaded at Warehouse 916, some kiddos stopped over on their bikes wanting to help. What a blessing!

Whether it is people needed to man a collection site for us, a shortage of toilet paper, or extra hands to sort, God knows and He delivers!

Looking for a Meaningful Way to Serve This Summer?

Gather your youth or church group and make a real impact! Some of our clients need a helping hand with yardwork throughout the growing season. It's a great way to give back, build community, and enjoy the sunshine! Who's in?

Please contact Beny Iordanescu by phone at (717) 336-7797 ext. 204 or by email at beny@reallcs.org.

Acts of Love Summer Lunches are Back!

We're excited to announce that the Acts of Love Summer Lunch Program is coming back for the summer!

In partnership with the Cocalico Ministerium and Ephrata Area Social Services, we're providing free weekly lunches to families in our community every Wednesday from June 11 to August 13, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. You'll find us at parks in Adamstown, Denver, Reamstown, and Reinholds, bringing not just food, but also joy, connection, and care to each location.

Let's keep spreading love and nourishment this summer — one lunch at a time!

Join us in Prayer & Praises

We recognize that there are several ways for you all to partner with us and that one of the most important ways is through prayer!

  • Please pray for our upcoming Golf Tournament — that the weather will be great and all will go smoothly, and that God will continue to bless our finances so we can keep serving our community.
  • Pray for the summer projects we are preparing with youth and mission groups. Pray that the number of projects and the number of groups are just right.
  • Continue to lift up our clients in prayer. Pray that they would find the right jobs, clearly hear and understand the guidance offered to them, and that new opportunities for affordable housing would open up.

Author Talk: Chain of Title with Christopher Scott

Join Mennonite Life for an evening with Christopher Scott, author of Chain of Title: An Adventure to Uncover the 350-Year Legacy of the Old Grist Mill on Thursday, June 26, 7:00 p.m. in the Mennonite Life Community Room. For two centuries, Christopher Scott's recently restored property on the Pequea Creek served as a grist mill. Eager to explore the history beneath his home, Scott began to piece together a 350-year "chain of title" linking him back through the centuries to William Penn. The book details this investigative journey, as well as Scott's personal story as an amateur historian. See more details at mennonitelife.org/events.
