Faith Development Goals for
Your Children's Ministry

A Workshop on Tuesday, September 26 at 7:00 pm

Led by Laura Ligo, Director of Children's Ministry at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Mount Joy

Developing clear, cohesive, and informative faith-development goals can greatly enhance the experience of the children and youth in your ministry. It will also help to set guidelines in place for ministry and leadership planning and decisions.

This workshop, which will have small-group, interactive components, will help you create a sequence of faith-learning goals for your church. You will learn how to use these goals to create a foundation for your Christian Education ministry and, in doing so, create stronger disciples of the children in your care.

Garry Wills has established himself as an authority on religion, American politics, and how they intersect. Now, after a lifetime spent thinking and writing about Christianity, Wills takes on one of his greatest intellectual challenges yet in WHAT THE QUR'AN MEANT: And Why It Matters.

Wills will speak about his insights and discoveries about the Qur'an in Lancaster on Saturday, October 7 at 6 p.m. in an event sponsored by the Parish Resource Center. A copy of the book is included in the ticket price for the event.

Sunday, October 8, 2017: 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Led by Godly Play Staff

This Core Training is the recommended training for every adult leading Godly Play sessions (years 1 – 3 of practice), for administrators, and for clergy. Over the course of three days (18 hours), participants experience all aspects of the Godly Play method and begin to become fluent in the Godly Play core stories and fundamental practices.

Additionally, Godly Play's guiding Theology of Childhood is introduced, so participants become more deeply connected to their work. Core training follows an action/reflection model of learning, with a mixture of trainer-led presentations and participant storytelling presentations. Core training plenary presentations cover: the Spirituality of the Child, Setting up a Godly Play Environment, and Supporting the Circle of Children.

Each participant who completes the training will receive a Godly Play Core Training Certificate.
