LMC's Fall Leadership Assembly is planned for Thursday, September 21. This assembly is being held in conjunction with the Annual International Missions Association (IMA) being hosted this year by EMM. This is a wonderful opportunity for LMC leaders to interact with and learn from our Global Fraternal partners from around the world.

Groffdale Mennonite Church
300th Anniversary Homecoming
Sunday, October 1, 9 a.m.
Groffdale Mennonite Church, 168 North Groffdale Rd, Leola, Pa.
The Groffdale congregation is planning a special worship service including varieties of music that have shaped the congregation over the years and dramatic vignettes to remember important events of God's faithfulness.  A catered lunch will follow the worship service in a large tent adjacent to the church.  Everyone is welcome to attend, especially those who have participated in the life of the congregation at some time in their lives.   The day will begin with a light breakfast served in the all-purpose room at 9 a.m. The worship service begins at 10 a.m. in the auditorium followed by the meal at noon in the tent. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP through the church website at Groffdale.com.

New Danville Mennonite Church
Celebrates 300 Years
On October 14 and 15 New Danville Mennonite will celebrate 300 years of history. On Saturday the 14th there will be a fall festival from 3 to 6 p.m. with yard games, fun for the kids and a bonfire with hot dogs and s'mores included. Sunday's service will be held at 10:15 a.m. and will include all five living Pastors. Afterwards a catered meal will be provided by Enck's Catering. Maize and Snitz Fest
Celebrate the Eastern Woodland Native American and local Pa. German cultures through artisan demonstrations, traditional food and good old-fashioned fun. Maize and Snitz Festival takes place on Saturday, October 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the 1719 Hans Herr House and Museum, 1849 Hans Herr Drive, Willow Street.  Tickets at the site cost $13 per adult, $6 for children 7 to 12, and free for children 6 and under.
 
Festival del Maíz y la Manzana
Celebra la cultura de los nativoamericanos de los bosques orientales y la local de los alemanes de Pensilvania a través de demostraciones artesanales, comida tradicional y diversiones saludables.  El Festival del Maíz y la Manzana se llevará a cabo el sábado 7 de octubre de 10 a.m. hasta las 4 p.m. en la Casa Museo de Hans Herr del 1719, 1849 Hans Herr Drive, Willow Street.  Los boletos el mismo día cuestan $12 por adulto, $6 por niño de 7 a 12 años, y gratuito para niños de 6 o menores de esto.

Greg Huber will give a presentation and sign copies of his recent book, The Historic Barns of Southeastern Pennsylvania: Architecture and Preservation, Built 1750-1900.

Corn Pickin' 5K

Responds to Hurricane Irma damage in Cuba and Haiti  
Hurricane Irma tore roofs from houses in Cuba and dashed houses to the ground. In Haiti, Irma's rain turned into flash floods that rushed into houses and caused families to escape in waist-high water. In both countries, crops, gardens and livestock were destroyed. Your gift to Mennonite Central Committee helps people in Cuba to rebuild and people in Haiti to recover.
