LMC Updates

Landis Homes, an affiliate of Landis Communities and one of LMC's resource partner organizations, is dedicated to serving aging adults and their families by honoring and enriching their lives within a community built on Christ-like love. Located in the picturesque Lancaster County, Landis Homes features lush wetlands where various bird species can be seen overhead, and blue herons are often spotted wandering about. Residents can also enjoy walking and biking along many winding paths. The spacious campus is conveniently situated just a short drive from the culturally rich city of Lancaster and the lively town of Lititz.

On Thursday, July 31, residents, staff, volunteers, and friends of Landis Homes gathered at the future site of The Meadows neighborhood for a ground blessing ceremony. This special event featured remarks from the Landis Homes Executive Team, the Landis Homes Board, and Warfel Construction. The ceremony aimed to express gratitude, bless the land, and envision the next chapter for Landis Homes. As the golden rays of sunlight filtered through the leaves and reflected off the water where wild geese swam, a gentle breeze stirred the flowers, providing a refreshing contrast to the heat. The planned expansion on the eastern side of the 114-acre campus will include eighty-seven new homes.

Pictured is Glen Moffet, Board Chair, who spoke about envisioning the future. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent LMC at the ground blessing ceremony. We look forward to seeing how this community will grow and flourish!

LMC is in a season of growth! Since 2018, we have welcomed 133 new congregations into our conference. Despite this, donations over the years have remained about the same, and are now beginning to decrease. Would you prayerfully consider joining us in being a Spirit-led movement and donating to LMC?
