Help bring Christmas to families in our community!

With the help of our good friends at LCBC Ephrata, we're bringing Christmas to a number of families in the Denver/Cocalico area this weekend! We're hosting a Christmas party at the Lighthouse with live music, games, photo booth with a Christmas tree, sit down meal, caroling, and a surprise visitor bringing the toys! We've gotten a nice donation from Toys for Tots for children under 12. But, we still have a number of teens and parents who we'd like to bless as well! We are humbled by all the amazing things God has done for us this past year! There is nothing more fulfilling than to see lives being changed right before your very eyes. With your help we made it possible!

You may have noticed our new name, "REAL Life Community Services"! This change will allow our organization to expand our outreach to help even more people; like Mary who is a single mom out of work and had her electric turned off. With your help, we were able to pay off her electric bill so she could use her lights, fridge, and heat again. The next week we were able to deliver to her over 30lbs of food for her and her two children. This is just one of many stories we could share about helping families in need this year. We even started a transitional home for moms coming out of the Good Samaritan Shelter in Ephrata! Providing a caring atmosphere and a mentor (success coach) to give the mom an additional 6-12 months of care she needs to get herself in a position where she can be on her own.

We expanded our Power Packs Project to feed more than 35 families (over 100 children) a week! Now, any family that has a child in the Cocalico School District has the opportunity to take advantage of this amazing program!

We empowered teens to take a leap of faith and travel to Guyana, South America, to bring hope to the country that boasts the highest suicide rate in the world. We visited seven schools and spoke to over 1,200 students about the hope found in Jesus Christ! We were able to pray with them and lead some to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!

This next year, we are not letting up! We are taking a larger team to Guyana to visit even more schools! We are expanding our programs at the Lighthouse to include after-school care and empower high school students with John Maxwell's "YouthMax" Classes! We will be offering a regional youth group for churches who want to participate.

We also have plans to help develop a much needed social service network, here in the community; as well as acquire the run-down Denver House and transform it into an affordable housing complex with a social service office that would provide medical and dental care, ultrasounds for pregnant women, mental health counseling, a food pantry, and more!
