Elizabethtown College's Young Center for Anabaptist and Pietist Studies will host an international conference, "Continuity & Change: 50 Years of Amish Society," June 9-11, 2016. The conference is open to the public and includes talks by Steven Nolt, professor of history at Goshen College; D. Holmes Morton, cofounder of the Clinic for Special Children; Karen Johnson-Weiner, professor of anthropology at SUNY Potsdam; and Mark Louden, professor of German at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Seminars and presentations on topics as diverse as Amish quilts, technology use, health care, and agriculture are also included.
