What is a Trunk-or-Treat event? At trunk or treats, costumed children and adults walk through a parking lot, stopping at cars that have decorated trunks and receive candy. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. How to host a trunk: Rally your youth group, Sunday school, small groups, outreach team, or staff to decorate a trunk (or several) and have the opportunity to connect with people in the greater Lancaster community. This event is great if your church or organization does not have adequate parking or if you aren't located at a highly trafficked area like the PRC. If you want to decorate trunks, what do you need to do? - Choose a child-friendly theme that you can do most of the decorating before the actual event - Here are ideas for ways you can decorate your trunk.
- Have at least 1 person host your car from 6 - 7:30 pm
- Provide at least 200 pieces of candy or a non-food item (Pencils, stickers, etc). The PRC will replenish candy if cars run out and as long as supplies last
- Reserve your spot(s) with Chris, PRC's Administrative Assistant at chris@parishresourcecenter.org, by September 17.
*The goal is to provide a fun and safe event for families in the community. We do not see this event as an evangelistic event, but you may bring fliers for your church and hand them out to interested families. |
