Cost: Free | | District and Congregational Events & Information | | LMC Agency Events & Information | | EMM appoints Lorri Bentch as new Mission Team director By Micah Brickner SALUNGA, Pa. — Gerry Keener, president of Eastern Mennonite Missions (EMM), is pleased to announce that Lorri Bentch has been appointed as the Mission Team director. Bentch will begin employment on April 3, providing leadership to 111 global workers serving in 33 countries, including regional representatives, and five Central Administrative Office staff members. In January, EMM announced the creation of a new position to give leadership to the Mission Team, which is the long- and short-term sending, partnering, and Bentch is a member of Souderton Mennonite Church where her husband serves as the lead pastor. She also serves as a volunteer young adult ministry leader for the Souderton congregation. Taught by Dr. Mark Wenger, "The Anabaptist Story: A Survey" will introduce students to the 500-year sweep of Anabaptist/Mennonite history, experience, and theological reflection. Curriculum will be structured around key turning points in history and theological convictions with the ultimate goal of better understanding the relevance of Anabaptist history and theology for the contemporary life of the church. A field trip is also planned for the class to explore local sites of historic importance to the Anabaptist tradition. The class is being offered in the Lancaster Mennonite Conference Center (2160 Lincoln Highway East in Lancaster).
