Children's Festival at Ten Thousand Villages (Ephrata, PA)

Learn about fair trade and experience other cultures at the 25th annual Children's Festival at Ten Thousand Villages in Ephrata, PA on June 1, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Enjoy crafts, games, food and live music with the whole family! 

Admission and parking are free with a suggested donation of wrapped bar soap or adult toothbrush to benefit Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) programs.

You Got Booked!: a mass incarceration interactive learning tool (Philadelphia, PA)

Join Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) on June 20th at 4:00 p.m. as we discuss the pipeline to prison process through participation in "You Got Booked!" an interactive learning tool developed by MCC. This exercise provides participants insight into the many flaws in the U.S. criminal justice system that lead to a system of mass incarceration. 

The event will include a time of discussion and light refreshments and will take place at the Free Library of Philadelphia (Parkway Central Library) at 1909 Vine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

24th annual EMM Global Fair (Lancaster, PA)

Celebrate summer with international culture and flavor at EMM's most exciting event of the year! Talk to mission workers and hear their stories about God's work in different countries around the world. Every year features something new, but it's always family-friendly, fun, and interactive!

    MCC Alumni & Friends Summer Picnic (Harrisonburg, VA)

    Join MCC for an alumni and friends summer picnic at Shady Oaks of Weavers Mennonite Church (2501 Rawley Pike, Harrisonburg, VA 22801) on June 29, 2019 to learn more about MCC's work in climate change! Hear from Dr. Sibonokuhle Ncube, national coordinator of Compassionate Development Service, an MCC partner agency in Zimbabwe on the topic, "Who is under your carbon footprint?" We will begin with a 6 p.m. outdoor picnic (weather permitting), with food provided by MCC, and then move inside for the program beginning at 7:30 p.m.

    Open positions

    Receptionist - Akron, Pa. (Stipend): By directing calls and helping visitors, the receptionist provides an important link for those contacting MCC U.S., and becomes knowledgeable about MCC's programs and goals. This position coordinates airport pick-ups for staff and for visitors to the office. This position is a service worker (volunteer) position, and the worker will be an an active participant of MCC's Akron Service Unit and will be one of the unit leaders. The Receptionist is part of Administrative Services, which is a support department of MCC, providing housing, reception, maintenance, record-keeping, dining hall, mailing services, and general office support at MCC's Akron office. 

    Area Director for East Africa (Stipend): This is a senior line management position responsible for program in East Africa. The Area Director (AD) in International Program carries out a joint program on behalf of MCC Canada and MCC U.S. This position is supervised by the Program Director for MCC Canada but also works closely with the MCC U.S. Program Director. This position works closely with the other Area Directors in International Program, primarily with the other Area Directors in Africa, to develop coherent strategies, priorities and networks. 

    Transitional Representative for Indonesia (Stipend): In Indonesia, Mennonite Central Committee is partnering with Indomenno Association, an organization made up of the three Mennonite synods in Indonesia. The Representative provides leadership and programmatic direction to the work supported by MCC Asia in Indonesia focused on health, peacebuilding, disaster response and education. This role includes maintaining relationships with diverse partners across the country, monitoring projects, representing MCC Asia to churches, community and partner leaders and to the government, and providing team leadership and support for all service workers and staff supported by MCC Asia through Indomenno in Indonesia.

    Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) invites you and your church to be part of our compassionate responses to people whose lives have been disrupted by war or disaster. MCC currently invites donations of relief kits, hygiene kits and sewing kits. 

    Relief kits and hygiene kits provide valuable supplies to families whose lives have been disrupted by war or disaster. Sewing kits provide the essential items needed to make and mend clothing and create craft items.

    Support MCC's response to Cyclone Idai in Mozambique and Malawi

    Cyclone Idai destroyed 90 percent of Beira, one of Mozambique's largest cities, and has affected nearly 3 million people in its path. As the storm surged through southern Africa, bridges, roads, fields, farms and millions of homes were violently washed away. It was one of the worst tropical cyclones ever to hit the southern hemisphere. Your gift will help MCC and our partners provide emergency assistance to those in dire need.

    Young adult peace camp (Cuddebackville, NY)

    Join MCC, in partnership with Camp Deerpark of Cuddebackville, NY, at a week-long Peace Camp from June 9-15, 2019 for young adults ages 18-24 who are interested in learning about a Biblical approach to peace and justice. During Peace Camp, young adults will explore themes of peacebuilding through hands-on learning about conflict transformation, conscientious objection, anti-racism, immigration, economics, creation care and more. The weeklong camp at Camp Deerpark includes a trip to New York City as well as the MCC headquarters in Akron, PA. The base participant fee is $300. Scholarships are available on a case-by-case basis. Travel to and from camp is provided.

    "Kits are for Caring" MCC relief kit curriculum

    Is your congregation looking for a giving project to connect children with the work of the global church? MCC has a resource for churches to get children and people of all ages excited about collecting relief kits! 

    Relief kits are a valuable resource for families who have been displaced due to war or disaster. Last year, MCC distributed more than 24,500 relief kits, and the need for relief kits continues to grow. This resource is designed to be ready to use and even contains a curriculum that includes everything you need to guide a group of children toward a celebration of sharing God's gifts by collecting humanitarian aid for those in need around the world.
