Dear Kelly,

We have been active at the Capitol today, representing you and the values we share - particularly with the critical issue of protecting women's sports and encouraging many legislators who knew that we  "have their back" as they argued for and voted to advance the Fairness in Women's Sports Act.

Our team sat directly behind four of the leading State Representatives behind this legislation, including Rep. Martina White (R-Philadelphia), Rep. Barb Gleim (R-Cumberland), Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) and Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-Clinton), as they presented their bill before the PA House Education Committee. With thanks to Chairman Curt Sonney (R-Erie) for his support and bringing this bill up for a vote, I can joyfully inform you that it passed out of committee today by a 15-9 vote! (After several members spoke, it advanced on a party-line vote with all Republican committee members voting Yes and Democrats opposing it.)

(From left to right, Rep. Martina White, Rep. Barb Gleim, Rep. Valerie Gaydos and Rep. Stephanie Borowicz at the PA House Education Committee to present the Fairness in Women's Sports Act, House Bill 972.)

As we've told multiple media outlets and many elected officials, the Fairness in Women's Sports Act creates an equal playing field for women. Currently in Pennsylvania, women are being forced to compete against biological men and losing out on the opportunities promised to them in Title IX. The Fairness in Women's Sports Act preserves those decades of hard-won rights to a fair playing field.

Right now is a perfect time to connect with your State Representative to voice support for this bill. Activists were walking the halls of the Capitol today actively lobbying legislators to stop this bill, spreading misinformation about the bill and pressuring lawmakers into not supporting fairness and a level playing field for women in athletics.

You can use our action alert to easily email both your state elected officials in support of the Fairness in Women's Sports Act - just click here or visit pafamily.org/fairplay

Thank you for taking action and supporting these important efforts to protect women and children in the arena of athletics. We will continue to keep you informed about the latest developments on this legislation.

Sincerely,

Lexi Sneller
