Saturday Open Library

The Mennonite Life Library will be open on Saturday, April 18, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The Mennonite Life Museum and museum store will be open as well. All are welcome to visit the library. Use of the library’s research materials is complimentary for Mennonite Life members, and $7 per day for non-members. Mennonite Life staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist researchers. Visitors are encouraged to pre-register at mennonitelife.org/events and mention specific topics they want to research.


Author Meet & Greet with Allan Garber

Join author Allan Garber for a short presentation about To God Alone the Honor on Thursday, April 23, 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the Mennonite Life Community Room. The book provides genealogical information about early Mennonite families in Lancaster County. Allan has updated pages with more genealogical research, which will be handed out free of charge to those who attend the event. Copies will be available for purchase at Mennonite Life after the day of the event. Allan will also be available to answer questions and sign book copies. To God Alone the Honor is available at Mennonite Life and the Mennonite Life online store. This event is complimentary and does not require registration. The American Revolution and Mennonites: A Crisis of Conscience

This event is presented by and held at Historic Rock Ford in the Langmuir Education Room on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn. On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Mennonite Life and Kenneth Sensenig present “The American Revolution and Mennonites: A Crisis of Conscience.” In 1777, during the defense of Philadelphia, the peaceful Ephrata Cloister became a place to nurse wounded soldiers. John and Anna Baer, Mennonite pacifists, cared for wounded soldiers whose cause contradicted their deepest beliefs. This presentation is part of Historic Rock Ford’s Untold Stories of the Revolution Lecture Series. Mennonite Life will display material artifacts related to Mennonites and the Revolution. General admission for the lecture is $10 or $5 for Rock Ford Members. Find more information at historicrockford.org/special-events

We're hiring a Storyteller!

Mennonite Life is hiring a full-time Storyteller (Communications and Content Creation person) to compile and tell the stories of Mennonite Life across multiple communication channels: through advertising and social media, at community events, and more. We are seeking an experienced and energetic communications person who can easily design and generate new branded content and represent the organization well at community events. A candidate must have experience with various forms of technology and social media. The person must be able to work collaboratively to ensure consistent branding across three sites and communicate that message to diverse audiences. The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be a self-starter who can tell other people's stories well, be able to seamlessly meet deadlines, and take the lead on presenting a consistent media presence.
