LMC Fall Leadership Assembly Videos

We had a great time sensing the Holy Spirit, forming, challenging, and molding us to be more like Jesus. If you could not attend Fall Leadership Assembly the videos will be available next week.
LMC Churches Events & Information
On Sunday morning, October 6, Byerland Mennonite Church will celebrate its 300th anniversary.  In a service beginning at 9:30 am, the congregation will focus on its year-long theme of "Faithful for Generations."  Speakers Melvin Reitz, Joe Garber, Joyce Zimmerman, Jeanne Bye, and Matt Buckwalter plan to give accounts of the church's past, present, and future vision.  There will be both congregational and special singing, including songs that had significance to the congregation in various eras.  The original log church building still stands across the street from the current building and will be open for visitors.  In addition, a number of historical items, including original deeds, photos, and communion items will be on display in the church lobby.  A carry-in meal will follow the service.  Lead pastor Matt Bye and the congregation invite all those interested to attend this anniversary service. For more information, please contact Pastor Matt at: byerlandpastors@gmail.com

Hi Phil!

Hope your weekend was phenomenal . . .  we miss see you you!

Applebees of Ephrata has offered us the opportunity to fundraise at their facility on Monday, October 21, from 11 am until 11 pm.  Every customer that eats there and presents the attached flyer to them will be donating 10-20% of the amount of their food bill to REAL Life Community Services.  What a wonderful way to kick off Thanks4Giving and the FaithfulGive!  I have attached the flyer for you to print, but if you need a printed copy, just stop by our offices between 9 am and 4 pm, Monday through Thursday and we will have copies there.

Thank you so much for your support!  Feel free to pass this on to friends and family - who doesn't enjoy Applebees?!

Meet Amber!

Amber was sitting on the stoop of her apartment building one fine day in June 2019 when Sunny and Rod approached her. She had clearly been through something, as she had several horrible bruises all over her body and was wearing a cast on her leg. That's when we found out Amber had been a victim of domestic violence, and she was worried about paying her rent for that month.

Her then-boyfriend had violently attacked Amber after he threw her out of his house over some money dispute. When she returned to grab her shoes to go home, she suddenly found herself on the floor, unable to get up. The next thing she remembers is crawling down 4th street in Denver from Washinton St. and stopping on the bridge to try and flag down a car. Finally, a gentleman in a van pulled over and offered to take her to the emergency room. Amber, still in a state of shock, insisted that he take her home since she didn't have any belongings on her. When she returned to her apartment, she called a friend who came in from Reading, and when he arrived, he told her to call the police.

REAL Icy Treats Stand!

A huge thanks to Jon and Sue Moyer for their donation of use of the Ice Cream machines as well as the Ice Cream Mix! We'd also love to thank each of the 23 volunteers who made it possible for us to serve the BEST Milkshakes at the Fair!

We hope you got your fill of sweet treats! See us again next year at the Denver Fair!

Join us in Prayer

We recognize that there are several ways for you all to partner with us and that one of the most important ways is through prayer!

This month, we ask for you to keep the following in your prayers:

  • Please pray for the continued success of our tenants and the Glory House Transitional parent as they are trying to parent alone, and we all know how difficult parenting is even in a two-parent family. Specifically, pray that this parent comes to know Jesus - they are almost there!
  • As we start the school year, we begin our Power Packs program. Please pray for all of the participants - we want the love of Jesus to shine through in everything we do and to be able to help them come to know the Lord personally.
  • We are preparing to kick off our fundraising season, Thanks4Giving 2024. As this is our main fundraiser for the year-end, we strive to raise at least half of our annual budget during this season. Please pray for the overall success of the Thanks4Giving campaign!

Make a Difference and Win Big!

Join us in the Nourishing Neighbors Million Hour Volunteer Rally

We are thrilled to invite you to take part in an incredible opportunity! Our organization is joining the Nourishing Neighbors Million Hour Volunteer Rally- an initiative led by the Albertsons Companies Foundation to help end hunger in our community.

From September through October, Nourishing Neighbors is rallying to reach one million volunteer hours. REAL Life is proud to be part of this important mission, and we are inviting all our members to join us in making a difference. But here's the most important part: Don't forget to log your hours! When you log your volunteer hours, not only you are making an impact, but you will also be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win some amazing prizes- including groceries for a year and a $10,000 donation to our organization!

Every hour you contribute brings us closer to these amazing rewards and strengthens our ability to serve the community! So please, don't miss out- log your hours today and make your time count!

To join the rally, simply log your hours through this link.

Remember, each volunteer must log their own hours to be eligible for the sweepstakes. When you log your hours, please look for us under the name "REAL Life Community Services".

Thank you for being the heart of our community. Let's rally together and make every hour count!

Volunteers Needed!

Currently, we need volunteers that are available to assist with Cocalico Food Pantry shopping in the afternoon. If you are interested in helping with this program and have some free time in the afternoon, please contact marybeth@reallcs.org.
