LMC Office Events & Information
LMC Seeks Administrative Assistant 

Lancaster Mennonite Conference seeks 80-100% time administrative assistant to carry through on daily routines and provide administrative assistance to Conference Office staff beginning on or around March 1, 2015. Person should be competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Access, have strong organizational and administrative skills, be self-motivated, able to make decisions and act independently, and have good communication/interpersonal skills. At least two to three years of related work experience preferred. Please submit a resume and letter of interest to Joanne H. Call to Prayer and Fasting
Sunday, January 25 
Lancaster Mennonite Conference invites individuals and congregations to participate in a time of prayer and fasting January through July. January 25 is designated as one of three special days of prayer. Your congregation is encouraged to include a time of prayer in your worship service or Sunday school classes.

Orientation for Asian Leadership Training  
Saturday, February 7, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
James Street Menn Church, 323 W James St, Lancaster, PA 17603 
Lancaster Conference and Eastern Mennonite Missions will collaborate with congregations with Asian immigrant members to provide leadership training. This orientation will outline a four-session, one-Saturday-a-month training on basic discipleship that will begin on Feb. 21. Troy Landis, EMM discipleship coach, will facilitate the instruction. Prelude Music
Children in kindergarten through second grade are invited to register for the spring 2015 semester of Prelude Music. Part of the Mennonite Children's Choir of Lancaster, Prelude Music is a non-auditioned group whose primary goal is to engage children with music. Playing, moving, listening, and singing are important components. Classes are held Tuesday evenings in February through April at Blossom Hill Mennonite Church. Registration deadline is February 10. January 29 Open House at all LMS Campuses 

Lancaster Mennonite School will hold a school-wide open house Thursday, January 29, 6-8:30 p.m. at its four campuses: Kraybill (PreK-8) in Mount Joy, Lancaster (grades 6-12), Locust Grove (PreK-8) in Smoketown, and New Danville (PreK-5). The event will include guided tours and an opportunity to meet teachers and administrators. At the Lancaster Campus there also will be an opportunity for students entering grades 9-12 to register for courses for the 2015-16 year. For more information call Christy Horst 717-509-4459 ext 312. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held Thursday, February 5.

 
Landis Communities
LANDIS HOMES

The public is invited to "Conversations for Peace in Palestine and Israel" Friday, February 6 at 7:00pm in the West Bethany Chapel of Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543. This meeting is part of a series of gatherings initiated by Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) U.S. for persons who want to explore their beliefs, concerns and understanding of this conflict. The session will be led by J. Daryl Byler, Executive Director for Eastern Mennonite University's Center for Justice and Peacebuilding and former MCC leader in the region.

  

There will be a meeting for caregivers of persons with memory loss and other forms of dementia on Tuesday, January 27 at Landis Homes. The topic for will be ""Maintaining Mobility" presented by Kristi Beltz. Beltz is the Program Director of the rehabilitation center at Landis Homes, which is managed by RehabCare. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. in the Warwick Room of The Heritage, the special care center at Landis Homes at 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz. The public is invited. An art reception opening at Landis Homes on February 3 will feature the latest quilted creations of Lititz artist Lois Flickinger. Her repertoire extends from traditional fabrics and patterns to imported materials and original designs using a wide range of styles. Many of the pieces she creates show the strong influence of her Mennonite background and the traditional Amish designs that she has always found to be beautiful works of art. All of the quilting on her pieces is done by hand and each quilt is signed and dated. The opening reception, to which the public is welcome, will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, in the Harvest View lobby and galleries at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz.
