ASSETS Lancaster creates economic opportunity and cultivates entrepreneurial leadership to alleviate poverty and build vibrant, sustainable communities. More about our work can be found on our website at www.assetlslancaster.org.  We have a variety of programs starting this fall. Please share these announcements with your congregation.

Week of September 5
Do you have a great idea for a business but don't know how to get started? ASSETS Lancaster is beginning the business start-up Learning Circle program on Tuesday, September 22. This course runs each Tuesday evening for 10 weeks. Participants learn how to prepare for self-employment, create a mission statement, make financial projections, define products and services and more. If you already own a small business and are looking for ways to access small amounts of capital and to improve your credit, ASSETS Lancaster also offers a program called Lending Circles. This microloan programs offers capital as well as access to technical assistance and a network of support from other business owners. A new Lending Circle is forming this fall. Week of September 19
Come out for The Great Social Enterprise Pitch finale on Friday, September 25 at 7 pm. This is an idea incubator and friendly business competition from ASSETS Lancaster and the Lancaster County Community Foundation. It is a 9-month process in which 10 business ideas are formed into business plans focused on the triple-bottom line (people, planet and profit). The top 5 ideas move to the final event on September 25. This free event is open to anyone and will be held at Fulton Elementary School at 225 W Orange Street, Lancaster. It will be followed immediately by a celebration at Community Mennonite Church of Lancaster at 328 W Orange Street. For more information, check out our website at www.lancasterpitch.com.
