Pennsylvania Family Institute

A specific request for your help with pro-life project

Dear Phil,

Let me get right to it: in short, PA Family Institute is attempting to create a series of photos of children born premature at 24 weeks and earlier holding a picture of themselves at the time of their birth. But we need help finding families interested in participating. The series is attempting to show the humanity of babies at this stage in pregnancy and to aid in advocacy efforts to limit abortion before this development stage. The deadline to submit is March 31, 2017. There are two ways you can help:

1) Submit a photo: To submit an entry, call us at 717-545-0600 or reply to this email at dbart@pafamily.org.

2) Make a donation: Your financial investment in this project will go directly to helping to get these photos in front of elected officials and the general public so they see their faces and the facts behind late-term abortion. Click here to make a secure online donation today in support of this effort.

Here's more about the project:

Born at 24 weeks and earlier: Photo Series

20 States with 20-week abortion limitsThere are now twenty states that have updated their abortion limit to the first 20 weeks in pregnancy. Yet Pennsylvania continues its archaic law permitting late-term abortion up to 24 weeks; a law set up all the way back in the 1980's.

That's why PA Family Institute has been a leading advocate for SB3 and HB77 - legislation that would include updating the state's abortion limit to 20 weeks.

You may recall some of the stories we've shared about children like Lydia and Will:

Lydia and Will

We want to build upon their stories, especially when there is a growing number of families that have children being saved when born at 24 weeks and earlier.

The Photo Series - Born at 24 weeks and earlierPennsylvania Family Institute is working to bring together pictures of children born at 24 weeks and earlier to give visual evidence that babies born at this development stage not only can survive but thrive and we therefore should do all we can to care and protect their life.

There are two ways we intend to use any photos we receive:

1) Post a photo series online at pafamily.org of children born at 24 weeks and earlier.

2) Create a photo gallery to be used at the PA State Capitol to advocate for updating Pennsylvania abortion limit to 20 weeks in pregnancy.

Pennsylvania Family Institute is part of an alliance of state groups from across the country and would give permission for these groups to use the photos in the same fashion.

The Details: This project is specifically looking for children born at 24 weeks, 6 days or earlier. We are looking for a recent photo of the child holding a picture of when they were first born. They can be from anywhere in the United States - not just Pennsylvania. We will need permission from the child's parent(s) to use their photo and description.

Please provide:

1. First name.

2. City and State.

3. The week in pregnancy they were born.

4. Brief description of their current interests.

As an example:

Will - Pittsburgh, PA - Born at 24 weeks: Straight-A student, loves playing baseball and video games.

The deadline to submit a photo is March 31, 2017.

To submit a photo: email Dan at dbart@pafamily.org or call 717-545-0600.

Thank you for considering how you may help with this request.

Sincerely,

Dan Bartkowiak, Communications Director

Pennsylvania Family Institute

In addition to need families to participate, a financial contribution to the project will help to get these photos in front of elected officials and the general public so they see their faces and the facts behind late-term abortion.
