Privacy Matters: School tries to enforce unwritten policy with no parent or student notification. Now it's written all over the Internet.

It was announced this week that the Independence Law Center has filed a lawsuit after the Boyertown Area school district told a student to 'tolerate' undressing with a student of the opposite sex and to make it as 'natural' as possible. After Fox News' Todd Starnes wrote about the lawsuit, it took off with Twitter messages from Franklin Graham and actor James Woods:

Various news outlets continue to cover this developing story: Philadelphia Inquirer, Reading Eagle, Pottstown MercuryCBS Philly, Fox29WPHT 1210, WAVA 105.1, BuzzFeed....

Randall Wenger and Jeremy Samek of the Independence Law Center are working tirelessly to offer their pro-bono legal services to this Boyertown student, who was intimidated by school officials, to defend his right to bodily privacy.

Bottom line: An unwritten policy that removes student privacy rights with no notification to parents or students is not the solution

For more about this case, visit the Independence Law Center website: independencelaw.org/2017/03/boyertown.
