Praise & Prayer
Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will."
Praises:
  • We praise the Lord for a staff and board of directors who desire to see many lives touched by God at Spruce Lake and Pinebrook.
  • We are looking forward to the new double water-slide at Wilderness Camp.
  • Praise from a recent retreat group, "Our church had a wonderful and blessed time; the quality and cleanliness of the facilities, the great food and the super nice people of Spruce Lake made our weekend unforgettable. These things allowed us to really focus on what we ultimately came for; to meet the Lord. I wanted to share that four of our members asked to be baptized on Saturday night."
  • Note from a school teacher who is retiring this year after 37 years teaching and 31 years of bringing students to Spruce Lake Outdoor School. "One of the most meaningful testimonies of the positive impact of Spruce Lake Outdoor School has been the response given by high schoolers who attended SLOS back when they were in fifth grade. Occasionally the subject of the Outdoor School randomly pops up in classroom discussions in the upper high school. This typically generates unsolicited and enthusiastic responses about the amazing classes they attended and activities in which they participated. Later in the school day the affected high school teacher will drop by my classroom to report the extraordinary positive reaction the high schoolers had to the subject of the Outdoor School. This scenario has occurred a number of times over the years – enough times to confirm the remarkable impact that Spruce Lake Outdoor School has made in the past and is still making in the present in the lives of young people. This all has its origins in the forward thinking and insight of Sterling Edwards who founded the Outdoor School; and it continues today through the devotion and efforts of you, Connie, and your talented staff. Thank you."

Prayers:
  • Pray for the Franconia Mennonite Camp Association Board and staff at Spruce Lake and Pinebrook as we continue to seek God's direction for the ministry.
  • Please pray that God would prepare the hearts of the arriving guests for what He wants to teach them while they are here.
  • Pray for the staff we need to serve guests at Spruce Lake and Pinebrook this summer, especially Day Camp Counselors.
  • Pray for the June 10th Wilderness Camp Benefit Golf Tournament.
  • Pray for the Re-founding Service at Pinebrook on June 30th from 2-6 pm.

In Christ,

Dave Trout
