Greetings!
You'll want to read every word of this incredible story!
A committed client in our fatherhood group wasn't a believer, but he was trying with all his heart to be a good dad to his two little ones.
One job wasn't enough to make ends meet, so he worked two of them to provide for his family.
When his girlfriend had to work on the same nights his fatherhood group met, he brought his 6-month-old along to class, changing diapers and giving bottles while doing his best to engage with the lessons.
He loved the classes and was learning so much, and not just about parenting — the classes were planting seeds of God's Word in his heart.
But between his jobs and his family life, our client was on the brink of total exhaustion. He called us with deep regret, sharing that he just couldn't continue. He even came by our office to say goodbye to his advocate and a fellow classmate in person.
We didn't know if we'd hear from him again, but God provided a way…
Our client called again, asking if he could come back. He had quit both of his jobs, determined to find a solution that offered greater balance for him and his family. He wanted another chance to attend our fatherhood groups.
Our answer was a resounding YES!
As the client walked into our office for class, he began to pour his heart out to the Lord, crying out for help. Through the group classes, a community of believers, and scriptural truths, God has been preparing his heart, and now, He was ready.
After much discussion with his advocate about what it means to be a follower of Christ, he was eager to become one. He accepted Jesus!
This client's story brings to mind the words of Psalm 116:1-2: "I love the Lord, for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live."
We are in awe of God's goodness. He used your giving and prayers to help this dad begin a new journey of hope in Christ! You can help us champion life and lead others to Jesus with your gift today here.
God has so much in store for this young man. Would you pray for our client as he seeks a new, better-paying job and shares about his decision with his girlfriend, who is not yet a believer? Please pray, too, that he would hold fast to his new faith and be a godly influence in the lives of his children. |
