LMC Office Events & Information

At the end of October, the LMC bishops and several team members traveled to Camp Deerpark in NY for a weekend retreat. This was a time to rest, encourage one another, connect with God and with others, pray, and spend time in God's beautiful creation.

The beauty of Camp Deerpark provided the backdrop for Bishops and LMC staff to reflect and tend to their vertical relationship with God and their horizontal relationships with each other. Together, we took communion, and we sensed the presence of the Divine as the Bishops humbly served one another through foot washing.

This Spirit-filled time of connection is one we won't soon forget. We are grateful for the time we had to be together in person, praying for one another and for the future of LMC.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A fines de octubre, los obispos de LMC y varios miembros del equipo viajaron a Camp Deerpark en Nueva York para un retiro de fin de semana. Fue un momento para descansar, animarse unos a otros, conectarse con Dios y con los demás, orar y pasar tiempo en la hermosa creación de Dios.
La belleza del campamento Deerpark sirvió de telón de fondo para que los obispos y el personal de LMC reflexionaran y cuidaran su relación vertical con Dios y sus relaciones horizontales entre sí. Juntos, comulgamos y sentimos la presencia de la Divinidad mientras los obispos se servían humildemente unos a otros lavándose los pies.
No olvidaremos este tiempo de conexión lleno del Espíritu. Estamos muy agradecidos con Dios por el tiempo que tuvimos para estar juntos en persona (erase), orando unos con otros y por el futuro de LMC.
EMM and LMC are thankful for the volunteer receptionists we have now, but we need a few more. Currently, there is a regular Tuesday afternoon shift available as well as substitute receptionists needed to fill the shifts when regular volunteers can't make it. General responsibilities include welcoming guests to EMM and LMC offices, answering the phone, and transferring calls. The role includes occasional and light projects such as collating or folding things, but there will be time to do personal reading or projects. We invite you to write to Jeanette Hunt at jeanette.hunt@emm.org or 717-898-2251 for more information.
Mennonite World Conference
Investing in young adults is key
"Investing in young adults is a key way to move forward. Mennonite World Conference is the best way I can imagine to do that," said Doug Klassen, executive minister of Mennonite Church Canada and the North America representative on MWC's Executive Committee
The member church of Mennonite World Conference puts its money where its mouth is. The church is organized into five regions – each of which sends a delegate to the Global Youth Summit. Together, leaders select one to serve as the official representative.
