Samaritan's Purse staff and disaster relief units are on the ground in coastal Texas and ready to help homeowners devastated by Hurricane Harvey's ravaging winds and catastrophic flooding. As I write this, the storm continues to dump rain in the Houston area. Totals could reach up to 50 inches in the coming days. Over 2,000 people have been rescued from their houses. Untold numbers are still stranded. It could take years for the area to fully recover from this. We are going to need an army of volunteers to help tear out damaged drywall, remove flooring, tarp roofs, and clear debris from flooded homes. Most importantly, we'll be there to show storm victims the love of Christ and share the eternal hope of the Gospel with them. The people living along the Texas coast desperately need our prayers and help. Would you prayerfully consider joining our volunteer teams as they serve in Jesus' Name to restore hope to these hurting people? Please continue to lift up the people of Texas in your prayers. May God bless you. |
