Why host an IVEP participant?

"We get to experience the world right here." That's what Christopher Bates of Madison Street Church had to say about hosting a participant in MCC's International Volunteer Exchange Program (IVEP). Every year, businesses, churches and families make new lifelong friends and learn more about the world by hosting a young adult from outside Canada and the U.S. Watch the video to learn more about the joys of hosting an IVEPer.

We are still looking for host families in the Harrisonburg, VA, area! If you or someone you know may be interested, please contact KimDyer@mcc.org.

Growing as a leader: Summer Service

When one thinks of young adults in leadership, one thinks of Gladys Carmela Molina Hill, a resident of Lancaster, Pa. From Summer Service worker, to attending the Summer Service Learning Tour in Honduras and serving as MCC East Coast's Summer Service intern, to serving as MCC U.S.'s orientation assistant summer intern, she has viewed many aspects of the Summer Service program all while developing her own leadership skills. Read her interview here.

Changed. Loved. Blessed.

These are just a few of the things our East Coast IVEPers felt as they returned to their home countries around the world. Check out their departing photos (and see how they felt last summer arriving in the U.S.).

If you're looking for a summer project with your kids, try packing relief, hygiene or infant care kits for MCC! These kits provide much-needed supplies around the world. They provide a great opportunity to talk with kids about needs around the world and how they can make a difference. Find kit instructions and drop-off locations on our website.
