Did you know...

Did you know Sixty tons of crayons are manufactured every day?
Millions of pounds of crayons are discarded annually throughout the United States. Wax crayons are made of petroleum, a chemical that is toxic to our environment. If crayons are not recycled they eventually end up in landfills and never biodegrade. New Danville Church is collecting unwanted crayons throughout the summer for donation to The Crayon Initiative, a non-profit organization, which will recycle the old crayons into new crayons that will be distributed to children's hospitals across the United States. If your children's ministry or church would like to learn how they can partner with New Danville in collecting crayons, send an email to office@newdanvillechurch.com.

Since then, he has been an evangelist, a youth minister, a child protective services social worker, a peace and justice educator, a pastor, the director of The London Mennonite Centre, an author, and a professor of theology at Eastern Mennonite Seminary (from which position he retired in 2018).

A History of the Conestoga River

Mennonite Life hosts author and photographer Donald Kautz on Thursday, July 21 at 7 pm as he takes participants on a journey on the historic waters of the Conestoga River. Special guest Benton Webber, a Lancaster Township engineer and president of the Manheim Township Historical Society, co-hosts the presentation at the Mennonite Life Collections Building on Millstream Road.

Admission is complimentary. You may purchase Kautz's book The Conestoga River: A History at the event. The author will sign books after the presentation.

The Conestoga River meanders about sixty miles through the fertile farmlands of Lancaster County in southeastern Pennsylvania until it empties into the Susquehanna River. Learn about its rich history and efforts to conserve this crucial natural resource during a compelling presentation of fine art photography.
