The guest speaker for August will be Sylvia Horst, FSG Member and Student of Marital and Family Therapy. Her presentation will be "Sharing Her Story and Call to Serve Others to Become Mentally Healthy" will be followed by a time of sharing. The public meeting is scheduled for Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the High Foundation Auditorium of the Calvin G. and Janet C. High Learning and Wellness Center at Landis Communities, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA. Please follow all COVID protocols in place at the time of the meeting. The monthly meetings provide a place for those who have a loved one living with mental illness to learn and share their experiences. The discussion will be followed by a time of sharing. The public meeting is scheduled for Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and will be on Zoom. Browse and buy outdoors under the big tent. Maize & Snitz Market Fair October 7 & 8, 10 am - 3 pm, at the 1719 Museum, amble through an 18th century Market Fair and engage with artisans demonstrating early American trades. Learn about Indigenous life and enter a longhouse. Tour the home built in 1719 for the Herr family made from sandstone quarried on the property. Celebrate harvest, community, and shop to your heart's content. Adults, $10, Children (7-17) $7, complimentary for age 6 and under. Volunteer opportunities at Mennonite Life! | | Friendship Community is thrilled to announce our Annual Irvin C. Enck Memorial Golf Tournament on September 8, 2022 at Foxchase Golf Club. This event will entail a shot-gun start, a lunch that is included in the registration fee, and a Golf Ball Drop sponsored by Blue Ridge Communications. Participants will have the opportunity to purchase add-ons for themselves and their team as well as raffle tickets for assorted prizes. This Golf Tournament is held in memory of Irvin C. Enck, former Friendship Community Director of Building and Maintenance, who passed away in August 2014. Irvin was an avid golfer and nature enthusiast, as well as an inspirational leader and a faithful supporter of Friendship Community. All proceeds benefit Individuals with Intellectual Disability and Autism.
