Stories by Candlelight at the 1719 Museum Join us for a cozy, candlelit evening of storytelling at the 1719 Museum on Saturday, January 11, 4:00–9:00 p.m. You'll hear songs and stories passed down for multiple generations among Lancaster County's Indigenous communities and Lancaster County Mennonites. At the Herr House you'll hear stories from the Martyrs Mirror and listen to English translations of hymns from the Ausbund performed by a Mennonite quartet. At the Lancaster Longhouse, award-winning Indigenous musician and artist Barry Lee will share songs and stories rooted in his cultural heritage. Light refreshments are included with admission. Beginning Research at the Mennonite Life Library Ready to learn more about researching your family tree? Mennonite Life partners with the Lancaster County Library to offer an introduction to genealogy and history research on Thursday, January 16, 2:00–3:30 p.m. at the Eastern Lancaster County Library. You'll learn how to use the Mennonite Life Library's online and onsite resources to research local Mennonite history and your own genealogy.
