News & Events December 2, 2024 EVENTS RESEARCH VISIT MEMBERSHIP DONATE Resources at the Visitors Center Find gifts and resources for your family, class, or congregation at the Mennonite Life Visitors Center. Our shelves are stocked with English and Spanish Bibles, study materials, cookbooks, and fair-trade gifts from Ten Thousand Villages. Visit us in person or shop online at mennonitelife.org/shop. Stories by Candlelight at the 1719 Museum Join us for a cozy, candlelit evening of storytelling at the 1719 Museum on Saturday, January 11, 4:00–9:00 p.m. You'll hear songs and stories passed down for multiple generations among Lancaster County's Indigenous communities and Lancaster County Mennonites. At the Herr House you'll hear stories from the Martyrs Mirror and listen to English translations of hymns from the Ausbund performed by a Mennonite quartet. At the Lancaster Longhouse, award-winning Indigenous musician and artist Barry Lee will share songs and stories rooted in his cultural heritage. Light refreshments are included with admission. Beginning Research at the Mennonite Life Library Ready to learn more about researching your family tree? Mennonite Life partners with the Lancaster County Library to offer an introduction to genealogy and history research on Thursday, January 16, 2:00–3:30 p.m. at the Eastern Lancaster County Library. You'll learn how to use the Mennonite Life Library's online and onsite resources to research local Mennonite history and your own genealogy. REAL Life season of giving back!

Help us raise $250,000! Cocalico Cooks 4 REAL! What a great night! With 8 food vendors and 18 different dishes, the competition was hot! However, in the end, Castañedas Mexican Restaurant won best appetizer with their chips and guacamole, Pappy's BBQ won best entree with their smoked pulled pork, and Courtyard Cafe on Main won best dessert with their apple cheesecake bars.   Cocalico Cooks 4 REAL brought in $16,000 before the night even started and by the end of the night our total was at $22,900! This brings our Thanks4Giving total to $73,567! We are well on our way, but we still have 1 month to raise $180,000. Reaching this goal isn't easy, so we need your help! Follow our campaign on Facebook and Instagram to share with friends, keep us in your prayers, and consider giving a donation. With your help we can continue to bring Hope to this community! Warehouse916 Updates Neighbors Helping Neighbors! We have been experiencing a lot of that this holiday season! Generous individuals and groups from the community like Faith Mennonite Fellowship, Signature Cabinetry, and the Cocalico Middle School band have donated turkeys and other food items for our Power Pack families and friends in our Client Choice shopping program. In addition, we had the opportunity to bless families and individuals this past Saturday with Thanksgiving baskets provided by Dove Westgate Church in Ephrata. Many helping hands were there to bring smiles and hope with each item given out. Just another testament that we serve an amazing God who is the ultimate giver of hope and love!   Thank you LCBC Church in Ephrata's kids' ministry for collecting over 1300lbs of food! This is probably one of our biggest single donations yet! This year, so many kiddos have been collecting food for our organization. It is so amazing to see youth getting involved to help their community. We love to see it!!

2024 Christmas Lights For All Come enjoy Christmas lights in Lancaster County with your friends and family and support a good cause! It's official! We are participating in LIGHTS FOR ALL once again at Refreshing Mountain Retreat & Adventure Center! This annual by donation walk-thru donation area is a wonderful way to support your favorite nonprofit and enjoy thousands of more lights than the previous year! This is a special walk-around experience that we hope will connect you, your family, and the Joy of Christmas! Join us in Prayer   We recognize that there are several ways for you all to partner with us and that one of the most important ways is through prayer! This month, we ask for you to keep the following in your prayers: We are in the midst of our end-of-year fundraiser, Thanks4Giving, and need to reach our goal of $250,000 by Dec 31. As He is our provider, please ask for His favor as we do what He leads us to do. We are also in the middle of Project Christmas Presents and we have over 150 children's names out all over the school district! Please pray that we can bless the socks off of these children and families and shine His light into their lives amid a lot of hurt and trauma. We are in the process of hiring a part-time social worker as we are experiencing more families in need. Please pray for wisdom as we hire a new member of our team.

Tuesdays, 6-8 PM Momentum Lighthouse Community Center Momentum guarantees a young person that there is someone who cares about them.
