LMC Updates

Landis Homes, an affiliate of Landis Communities and one of LMC's resource partner organizations, is dedicated to serving aging adults and their families by honoring and enriching their lives within a community built on Christ-like love. Located in the picturesque Lancaster County, Landis Homes features lush wetlands where various bird species can be seen overhead, and blue herons are often spotted wandering about. Residents can also enjoy walking and biking along many winding paths. The spacious campus is conveniently situated just a short drive from the culturally rich city of Lancaster and the lively town of Lititz.

On Thursday, July 31, residents, staff, volunteers, and friends of Landis Homes gathered at the future site of The Meadows neighborhood for a ground blessing ceremony. This special event featured remarks from the Landis Homes Executive Team, the Landis Homes Board, and Warfel Construction. The ceremony aimed to express gratitude, bless the land, and envision the next chapter for Landis Homes. As the golden rays of sunlight filtered through the leaves and reflected off the water where wild geese swam, a gentle breeze stirred the flowers, providing a refreshing contrast to the heat. The planned expansion on the eastern side of the 114-acre campus will include eighty-seven new homes.

Pictured is Glen Moffet, Board Chair, who spoke about envisioning the future. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent LMC at the ground blessing ceremony. We look forward to seeing how this community will grow and flourish!

End of Summer

We are officially done with Summer 2025. While it may be sad to see our camp a little bit emptier, we are excited for all the rentals and events to come this fall. Please take some time to read over some quotes from campers and parents from this summer:

  • "I enjoyed watching Maggie make friends as the week went on. This was our first time at Woodcrest and we didn't know anyone. She was very hesitant the first day even crying as I left her, but by the end of the week she had made friends and was busy playing with them when I came to pick her up. " -Summer camp parent
  • "Thank You for the Campership funds so my children could go to camp. This was their first time at camp and they loved each and every day of it." -Summer camper parent

Fwd: This connection with Align was no coincidence…

---------- Forwarded message ---------

To: <gehmanmennonitechurch@gmail.com>

Greetings!

When Jana found out she was pregnant, she signed up for Align's free prenatal education program. There, she not only learned about her baby's development but also how to navigate the challenging emotions she'd face during her pregnancy. Upon completing the program, Jana was overjoyed to have earned a brand-new crib for her baby.

Before leaving, Jana handed her client advocate a thank you card that read,

"When I first found out I was pregnant unexpectedly, I felt so scared and lost. Coming across this program has been such a blessing…"

It's hard not to smile at the phrase "coming across." Jana may have thought it was a coincidence, but we know otherwise. Her connection with Align was no mere happenstance; it was God's provision.

Heartwarming gestures like Jana's card are powerful testimonies of God's goodness and your invaluable support. Visit alignlifeministries.org/give to join us in building a legacy of life, one mom and one baby at a time.

In the powerful, life-saving name of Jesus,

Lisa Hosler
