India Experiences:

Sunday Night at the Quarry- Ruthann
After a time of sharing we crawled on all fours to enter the neat little huts with their little shelf for bare cooking essentials up against the tiny family cot and thatched roof overhead where the white rats freely scampered all round us.
We found ourselves grappling with our faith as we cried out for all the health, emotional and financial challenges that these families are afflicted with, living and working in this harsh dust bowl.
The dearest of the difficult prayer requests was the mother whose toddler daughter had died but thankfully her oldest daughter had been brought to the Gunti's own home and is being cared for and tutored there. In spite of the language barrier, I was able to weep with this mourning woman and hold her as we sobbed, rocking together, looking at her single photo of their sweet little girl now passed.
Upon exiting, I was compelled to drape my white crocheted sweater around her shoulders as a keepsake reminder of Jesus' caring embrace and that He is her El Roi "the God who sees."
These first generation believers have new purpose all because a young Brother Sam, years ago, was moved to ride his bike way out to remote slum places like these to find a forgotten people, bringing hope thru the Gospel, discipleship, humanitarian provisions and a school!
Board Member, Joel Barkman and his family were in India the same time as Dave Miller family. Here he is praying with those who responded after a Gospel meeting.
Gospel Meetings- Evangelist Dave Miller
Wow, what a great blessing to see the favor of God through Good Life Ministries (GLM) in India. A number of things stood out to me during the late night Gospel meetings, but the one that touched me the most were the tears of brokenness in those who were receiving Christ for the first time or being prayed for about something in their life. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Psalm 51:17

Baptisms- Dave Miller
The baptisms were a great highlight. I appreciate the emphasis Brother Sam used in making sure these individuals are getting baptized for the right reason. I am so excited to see what God will do with these people to impact India and the world, as they were buried with Him in baptism unto death, but also raised up in newness of life!

I also saw a great level of humbleness, tears and brokenness in Brother Sam and the GLM Staff, which I believe is one of the reasons the favor of God is upon GLM. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head that ran down upon the beard even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
Psalm 133: 1-3

Contagious Faith of Youth- Derek Miller
Working with the youth in India was a tremendous blessing. Their hunger for the things of God was contagious. They gave endlessly of themselves in serving those around them. It was a challenge to my own life. It's truly astounding how God is working all around the Globe in the hearts and lives of people. It was a great blessing to see these things first hand.

The Most Beautiful Sight- Deborah Miller
Puppets, obnoxious song actions, magic tricks, Sam's jokes, crafts, a meal; all these crazy-fun things that make up a Good Life Club are nothing in themselves but they break down the walls of the skeptic parents watching on the outskirts of the tent and make all those brilliant white teeth display themselves on the eager faces of those remarkable children. They set the stage for the Message.
And then when it's time for prayer- decision time- I can't keep my own eyes shut, for it's one of the most beautiful sights I've seen: each child kneeling, hands clenched, eyes closed tight, moving their little lips, uttering Telugu Words, I can't understand, with a sincerity that will forever be etched in my mind.
I stood in awe at these clubs and Good Life School, at how evidently Jesus is taking these little lives and pouring His very life into them; planting seeds of His love into these open hearts that we pray will bring forth lasting fruit for the next generation in India.
And even if the hearts of these children weren't changed
