"If one part of the body suffers, every part suffers with it."
- 1 Corinthians 12:26.

Did you know that the "typical Mennonite" from around the world is a young woman from Congo?  Right now, "average Mennonites" are facing trauma, grief and pain.
Our global family of Mennonites needs your help now.

Give to Mennonites in Congo.
Current violence is on the rise in the Kasaï regions in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where most of the Mennonite congregations are established. This leaves some Congolese Mennonites abused, others dead, and many in hiding.

"It will get much worse in the coming weeks," said Pastor Adolphe Komuesa Kalunga, national president of Communauté Mennonite au Congo (Mennonite Church of Congo), a Mennonite Mission Network partner. "Most of our members are hiding in the bush and forests."

Often, we'll call fellow believers "sisters and brothers." "But as Mennonites in North America, we need to flesh out what it means to be family with Congolese Mennonites, by standing in solidarity with them in this crisis through our prayers and our acts of love," said Rod Hollinger-Janzen, executive coordinator of Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission, partner of Mennonite Mission Network.

Do your part to support Mennonites in Congo.
Pastor Komuesa – and many others – will be most grateful!

Gifts to this fund through Mennonite Mission Network will be part of a multi-organization effort to purchase food, farming tools, and other emergency supplies for Mennonites who have lost everything.  To give:

As partners in mission,
we're asking you to respond to this emergency appeal,
above and beyond your annual giving.

"We appreciate your response to this special emergency appeal," said Paula Killough, senior executive for Advancement for Mennonite Mission Network. "Please consider an additional gift to relieve the suffering of our sisters and brothers in Congo."

Pastor Komuesa named 10 congregations that are unable to gather for worship, before saying that he was unable to list all the places that people had fled. Fields are left untended, so hunger is pervasive.

The beauty of Christian community is that we give and we receive, and in times of need we take care of each other. This is our time to respond to our brothers and sisters in Congo. How will you respond?

In Christ,
