Journey: A Missional Leadership Development Program. Explore your call to ministry in this 2-1/2-year distance-friendly nondegree AMBS program that features a five-unit online curriculum, biweekly mentor-mentee meetings and one visit to the AMBS region per year. Exploring Anabaptist History and Theology (noncredit): Sept. 12 – Oct. 23. This online AMBS short course taught by Jamie Pitts, Ph.D., covers the birth and development of 16th-century Anabaptist movements and looks at various interpretations of the meaning of "Anabaptism" today. Cost: $200 before Aug. 22; $250 after. CEUs available. ambs.edu/shortcourses
 
Seminary scholarships for VSers. AMBS offers tuition discounts and scholarships ($1,500 per academic year) to current and former voluntary service workers. Week of June 17
 
Rooted and Grounded: A Conference on Land and Christian Discipleship: Sept. 27–29, 2018, at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart, Indiana. Imagine and embody alternative ways of relating to the land that cultivate shalom among human beings, the rest of creation and God. This event will weave together worship, theology, biblical study and praxis. Keynote speakers: Valerie Bridgeman, Karenna Gore and Randy Woodley. ambs.edu/rootedandgrounded
 
Spiritual Guidance Seminars. Prepare for a ministry of spiritual direction through this two-part supervised program, which will be offered on the AMBS campus in 2018–19. Level 1 begins in September and Level 2 in October. Instructor: Dan Schrock, D. Min. Early registration deadlines: Aug. 8 (Level 1); Sept. 5 (Level 2). ambs.edu/seminars

Take a seminary course this fall through AMBS! Fully online courses include Christian Attitudes Toward War, Peace and Revolution; Christian Theology 1; and Spiritual Practices: Prayer and Scripture. Hybrid courses (online, with one week on campus: Aug. 20–25) include Isaiah and Family Spirituality. More than 10 on-campus courses are also offered. Visiting preacher and teacher: David B. Miller, D.Min., of the AMBS Church Leadership Center, is available to congregations and organizations as a visiting preacher, lecturer, workshop leader and pastoral consultant.
